Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has received the first attack drone produced by a German-Ukrainian joint venture ahead of the Munich Security Conference.
According to the Kyiv Independent, during Zelensky’s visit to Quantum Frontline Industries (QFI), a joint venture between Germany's Quantum Systems and Ukraine's Frontline Robotics, the Ukrainian-German Linza 3.0 multi-purpose drone was presented to Zelensky.
Linza 3.0 is described as an upgraded bomber drone platform, capable of striking targets, deploying mines, supporting logistics, and carrying up to 4 kilograms of payload.
“This is modern Ukrainian technology. Battle-tested. Powered by AI. It will strike, it will scout, it will protect our soldiers,” Zelensky posted on X.
“Ukraine has long worked to open coproduction lines in Europe. And today — this line is operational. First in Germany. This is a real result.”
He added that 10,000 drones are expected to be produced at the facility per year and will be supplied to Ukraine to strengthen its forces.
Zelensky said the country is also planning to open 10 joint ventures producing Ukrainian drones by the end of the year.
Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, Ukraine has ramped up its domestic drone production and sought partnerships with European allies to reduce supply risks.
As Kyiv increasingly focuses on AI-enabled systems, so does Russia. In November 2025, Ukrainian drone expert Serhii “Flash” Beskrestnov warned that Russia had “borrowed” innovative technologies from the Ukrainians and rapidly scaled them, developing a new generation of autonomous, AI-driven drones.
A similar scenario happened when Ukraine tested the fiber-optic drones, which were later copied and mass-produced by Russia.
All of this brings us closer to a world where fully autonomous AI will soon likely operate on the frontline.
