It has 5,413 servers in 59 countries, including plenty in locations where Binance’s full version is available. So you’ll always have an extensive list of servers to choose from that will unblock Binance.

Aside from this, NordVPN stands out as an excellent choice for Binance because of its remarkable suite of security features, including military-grade encryption and a kill switch to guarantee that your data and true location remain private.

On top of this, you also get protection from phishing sites, along with obfuscated servers to mask your VPN usage from Binance. And its double VPN feature will provide an extra layer of anonymity to keep your transactions safe from online snoops.

Another great selling point for NordVPN is that it provides super-fast speeds by using NordLynx, a modified version of the WireGuard protocol. It delivers an average speed of 249mbps.

NordVPN is excellent value for money, with plans starting at just $3.30 a month.

2. Surfshark - Best value Binance trading VPN

This includes military-grade encryption, along with a customizable kill switch and impressive leak protection.

Surprisingly Surfshark is actually the fastest VPN on our list, using the WireGuard protocol to deliver an average speed of 263mbps. And even better, you’ll get unlimited simultaneous connections, so you and your entire household can use it at the same time for no extra cost.

For all this, Surfshark is incredibly cheap, with prices starting at just $2.49 a month.

This provider has over 1,600 servers across 52 countries, which isn’t as many as NordVPN or Surfshark. But this list includes a good selection of servers based in locations that have full access to all that Binance has to offer. So it’s still an excellent choice for accessing the site.

Better still, IPVanish has a strong suite of security features, such as a kill switch, DNS and IP leak protection, and military-grade ciphers. However, you should be aware that IPVanish is based in the US, which isn’t a privacy-friendly country. Therefore, it might not be the best choice if you’re particularly concerned about privacy.

Elsewhere, IPVanish delivers an average speed of 237.5mbps, giving you a smooth, lag-free experience. And better still, it comes with up to 10 simultaneous connections, so you can use it to switch seamlessly between devices while you trade cryptocurrency.

It also comes with some fantastic security features to allow for safe trading, such as AES 256-bit encryption, leak protection, and a kill switch. But PrivateVPN lives up to its name by operating a strict zero-logs policy and allows you to use anonymous payment methods to improve your privacy.

This provider delivers fast, smooth speeds for swift trading, and it uses obfuscation to completely hide your true IP address, so you can avoid having your Binance account blocked. It comes with up to 6 simultaneous connections too, which gives you the option to exchange currency on several devices.

However, it’s worth bearing in mind that these servers sit across more than 70 countries worldwide, meaning that you’ll have plenty of options to choose from when signing into Binance.

And equally important, VyprVPN has strong security to keep your transactions safe from prying eyes. Elsewhere, it uses the WireGuard protocol to deliver surprisingly fast speeds averaging a very respectable 224 Mbps. With speeds like this, you won’t have to deal with buffering while you’re trying to exchange cryptocurrency. You also get up to 5 simultaneous connections, making it easy to flip between devices.

How we selected and tested these VPNs

To create our list of the best VPNs for Binance, we paid particular attention to the following criteria:

  1. Its ability to unblock Binance: It’s no surprise that this was the most important factor when selecting VPNs for this list. We tested out a range of different VPNs, and each of the providers that made it onto our list had a good range of servers in locations where Binance operates along with security measures to hide a device’s true IP address. All of the providers on our list was able to consistently bypass Binance’s restrictions.
  2. Security: Protecting your online identity is a popular reason to get a VPN, but security is even more important if you’re trading cryptocurrency. Every VPN that made it onto our list has a strong suite of security features to keep your data completely private while you’re online.
  3. Speed: Whatever you’re doing online, you’ll want fast and reliable speeds, particularly if there’s money at stake. We tested all the VPNs mentioned here to make sure they deliver a smooth, buffer-free experience.
  4. Price: As with any online purchase, price is important. Hence, we’ve chosen a range of solutions at different price points to suit every budget.

Why do I need a VPN for Binance?

Thanks to US regulations, Binance isn’t available in the US. If you try to use it inside the US, you’ll either be blocked from entering the site, or you’ll be redirected to the US version of Binance, which is heavily restricted. It only allows you roughly 50 cryptocurrency options, as opposed to the 250+ options included in the main service. The pared-down version isn’t available in every US state, and it also charges higher fees than the full version.

Therefore, if you’re in the US and you want the full Binance experience, you’ll need to use a VPN provider. A VPN works by changing your IP address to hide your true location. This enables you to connect to a server in a country that has full access to Binance so that you can bypass its geo-restrictions.

But even if you're in a country that already has Binance, it’s vital to get a VPN for security reasons. A VPN also encrypts your data to keep it completely private, which is especially important if you’re trading cryptocurrency online.

Aside from that, a VPN comes with a whole host of other benefits, including hiding your activity from your internet service provider (ISP), which will stop your speeds from being throttled. And not only will it unblock Binance, but it’ll also allow you to bypass geo-restrictions on loads of other sites and services. In fact, one of the most popular uses of a VPN is to unblock streaming services from other parts of the world, such as BBC iPlayer, HBO Max, and different versions on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney Plus.

Why is Binance banned in the US?

In 2019, Binance was banned from doing business in the US on regulatory grounds. This is because it uses securities that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission hasn’t approved.

On top of this, Binance is now also being investigated by the United States Department of Justice and Internal Revenue Service for serious crimes, such as tax evasion and money laundering. It’s claimed that Binance allowed US citizens to make illegal trades.

In response to this, the cryptocurrency exchange giants launched Binance US, a separate company registered with the United States Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. However, although it complies with US rules and regulations, it’s far more restricted than the full version. It only gives you access to around 50 cryptocurrency options instead of the 250+ available to US residents before the ban.

To make matters worse, Binance US is currently banned in seven states, meaning that a significant number of people in the US can’t access Binance in any form. However, a lot of people are now getting around this by using a VPN to connect to a server in a country that hasn't banned Binance, allowing them to continue trading without any restrictions.

Yes, it’s perfectly legal to use a VPN with Binance. However, you should bear in mind that Binance is banned in the US. Therefore, using a VPN to access it while you’re in the US goes against Binance’s Terms of Service. If Binance detects that you’re using a VPN, it might ban you from the site.

And while using a VPN to log into Binance isn’t illegal, any illegal activity done while you’re connected to it will still be breaking the law. So it’s important to make sure you avoid any illegal activities while you’re using Binance in the US.

Can I use a free VPN for trading on Binance?

Although you may be able to use a free VPN to access Binance, it doesn’t stand a good chance of working. This is because free VPNs usually have tight budgets, and so they can’t offer the same quality or quantity of servers as you’d get from a paid-for service. Therefore, if you use one to connect to Binance, it will be far more likely that your traffic is recognized as coming from a VPN and could result in your account being blocked by the site.

Aside from this, free VPNs tend to be a lot slower and less user-friendly than more reputable alternatives. And more worryingly, they’re usually not as reliable, with far fewer security features available. In fact, a large number of free providers make their profit by selling customer data to third parties. As security is of paramount importance for anyone wanting to trade cryptocurrency, we’d strongly recommend paying a small monthly fee for any of the providers mentioned in our list above.

If you want to try a free VPN, we’d advise opting for a freemium service, which is a free version of a paid-for VPN. They’re usually a lot more limited and often come with a data cap, but they tend to be a lot more secure than providers that only offer free services. Atlas VPN (mentioned above) or ProtonVPN offer decent freemium options.

If you want to trade on Binance in the US, using a VPN is definitely the best way we’ve found to bypass Binance’s geo-restrictions so you can trade from anywhere in the world. However, not all VPNs can unblock Binance, and the platform may ban your account if it recognizes VPN traffic. So it’s really important to choose the right VPN. And that’s why we tested out a range of VPNs and identified six providers listed above that were able to consistently access Binance without detection.

But of course, accessing Binance isn’t the only reason for using a VPN. It’s also a vital tool for improving your online security, which is especially important if you’re trading cryptocurrency. A VPN works by encrypting your internet traffic, which keeps it completely safe from cybercriminals, government bodies, and other third parties.

We hope this guide has taught you everything you need to know about the best VPNs for Binance. If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch! Simply post your query in the comments section below, and one of our experts will get back to you.
