Binance is the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world. But unfortunately, the full version isn’t available in the US – it’s slimmed down and full of restrictions that will prevent you from using Binance to its full potential.
Luckily though, there’s a simple way you can access Binance’s full version from the US. All you need to do is sign up for a reliable VPN and connect to a server in a country that doesn’t restrict Binance and you’ll be able to use the full cryptocurrency exchange.

So there is a risk that your account may be suspended if you’re caught. But the good news is, we’ve identified some VPNs that can unblock Binance’s region restrictions without being detected.
In this guide, we walk through the best VPNs for Binance, as well as some useful information about using a VPN with this crypto trading platform.

1. NordVPN – best VPN for Binance
|Servers/countries:||5,900+ servers in 60 countries|
|Platforms:||Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS|
|Current deal:||🔥Holiday Deal! Get NordVPN with 69% OFF + 3 months FREE!🔥|
NordVPN is the best VPN for Binance, as it demonstrated consistent performance in bypassing Binance’s restrictions during our testing. It has 5,900+ servers in 60 countries, including plenty in locations where Binance’s full version is available. So you’ll always have an extensive list of servers to choose from that will unblock Binance.
Aside from this, NordVPN stands out as an excellent choice for Binance because of its remarkable suite of security features, including advanced encryption and a kill switch to guarantee that your data and true location remain private.
On top of this, you're secured from phishing sites and malware, thanks to the Threat Protection features. Meanwhile, obfuscated servers mask your VPN usage from Binance and other onlookers. And its double VPN feature will provide an extra layer of anonymity to keep your transactions safe from online snoops.
While a VPN may slow down your speeds, this is not the case with NordVPN. It performs at blazing-fast speeds, thanks to its NordLynx tunneling protocol. During our speed testings, NordVPN maintained up to 90% of initial Internet speeds on average and performed without any buffering or lagging.
NordVPN is excellent value for money, with plans starting at just $2.99/month.

2. Surfshark – best value VPN for Binance trading
|Servers/countries:||3,200+ servers in 100 countries|
|Platforms:||Windows, Mac, Linux, Android, iOS|
|Current deal:||🔥Holiday deal! Get 82% OFF Surfshark + 4 months FREE🔥|
Surfshark is a cheaper alternative to NordVPN, but it still has many of the same features and benefits. Crucially, it can consistently unblock Binance in a matter of seconds. And with more than 3,200 servers in over 100 countries, you’ll be spoilt for choice when connecting to a server in a location that has unrestricted access to Binance.
Once you’re connected to a server, you’ll be reassured to know that Surfshark is one of the safest VPNs on the market, with a whole host of sophisticated security features to keep your trading private and secure. This includes the essentials like cutting-edge encryption, a customizable kill switch, and impressive leak protection. Meanwhile, more unique perks include MultiHop servers and NoBorders mode.
Also, Surfshark performs similarly to NordVPN and is actually one of the fastest VPNs on the list. During our testing, it demonstrated slight speed drops and retained around 88% of initial connection speeds on average using the WireGuard protocol.
For all this, Surfshark is incredibly cheap, with prices starting at just $1.99/month. And for this price, you get unlimited simultaneous connections for your entire household’s device protection.
3. IPVanish – great lightweight option for fast trading
|Servers/countries:||2,200+ servers in 52 countries|
|Platforms:||Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS|
|Current deal:||🔥 Holiday deal! Get 81% OFF IPVanish + 3 months free! 🔥|
If you’re after a lightweight VPN that works well with Binance, you won’t go far wrong with IPVanish. It can bypass geo-restrictions on Binance without eating up too much processing power.
This provider has over 2,200 servers across 52 countries, which isn’t as many as NordVPN or Surfshark. But this list includes a good selection of servers based in locations that have full access to all that Binance has to offer. So it’s still an excellent choice for accessing the site.
Better still, IPVanish has a strong suite of security features, such as a kill switch, DNS and IP leak protection, and industry-standard ciphers. However, you should be aware that IPVanish is based in the US, which isn’t a privacy-friendly country. Therefore, it might not be the best choice if you’re particularly concerned about privacy.
IPVanish provides its users with a smooth, lag-free experience. When we tested its speeds, IPVanish retained around 80-90% of the original connection speeds with the WireGuard tunneling protocol. Beware that the speediness may drop with other protocols, so make sure to use the closest server and the WireGuard.
IPVanish is competitively priced, with plans starting from $2.49/month. And better still, it comes with unlimited simultaneous connections, so you can use it to switch seamlessly between devices while you trade cryptocurrency.
If you’re tempted to try it out, be sure to check out our in-depth IPVanish review.
4. ExpressVPN – secure VPN for Binance trading
|Servers/countries:||Servers in 105 countries|
|Platforms:||Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS|
|Current deal:||🔥 Holiday deal! Get ExpressVPN, now 49% OFF + 3 months FREE! 🔥|
ExpressVPN is another reliable option for Binance trading. This VPN has hundreds of servers in 105 countries, so you’ll easily connect to a location where the full Binance version is available for your crypto trading.
In addition, there’s no need to worry about your data security. ExpressVPN protects you with AES-256 encryption, has a strict no-logs policy, and has a reliable kill switch to prevent accidental data leaks.
Furthermore, ExpressVPN includes a Threat manager feature that blocks all tracking and other malicious online threats. However, this provider is not as feature-rich as other VPNs, like NordVPN or Surfshark.
But when it comes to connection speeds – they won’t disappoint. Our tests have proven Lightway to be the fastest ExpressVPN’s tunneling protocol, as it showcased only a 23% drop in initial Internet speeds on average. So, you’ll get to enjoy lag-free online experience.
This is one of the pricier VPNs on the market. The best ExpressVPN deal costs $6.67/month and covers up to 8 devices simultaneously. You can also use the risk-free 30-day money-back guarantee.
5. CyberGhost – versatile and reliable Binance VPN
|Servers/countries:||10,200+ servers in 100 countries|
|Platforms:||Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS|
|Current deal:||🔥 Holiday deal! Get CyberGhost VPN, now 84% + 4 months FREE! 🔥|
One more great Binance VPN is CyberGhost. This provider offers a massive server list of 10,200+ servers in 100 countries. Therefore, finding the best connection point to use Binance will not be any trouble, especially since CyberGhost has plenty of servers in the locations where this trading app is available.
While this provider may have some connectivity issues, the average speed retention rate was around 84% during our speed testings. Thanks to the WireGuard tunneling protocol, you get decent speeds, seamless browsing experience, however, it’s not as fast as NordVPN’s.
More so, CyberGhost encrypts your data with AES-256 ChaCha20 encryption, has an automatic kill switch, is based in a privacy-friendly jurisdiction, and has an audited no-logs policy. So your data is fully protected and not logged anywhere.
You can purchase a CyberGhost subscription for $2.04/month and cover up to 7 devices simultaneously. To try out this service, there’s a risk-free 45-day money-back guarantee.

|Servers/countries:||5,700+ servers in 68 countries|
|Platforms:||Windows, Mac, Android, iOS|
|Current deal:||🔥Get Ivacy VPN, now 90% OFF + gift!🔥|
Another great VPN for accessing the full version of Binance is Ivacy VPN. It has over 5,700 servers in 68 countries, with plenty of them in US cities. But that’s not all that this provider can offer.
For starters, Windows and Android users get a functional kill switch that prevents data leaks even if the VPN connection gets interrupted.
There’s also the split tunneling feature, letting you choose which traffic goes through a VPN connection and which doesn’t. This way, you can use Binance but still view websites in your own language.
However, even with the WireGuard tunneling protocol, Ivacy VPN's speed retention rates fluctuated from 30 to 50% during our speed tests. Therefore, if you need a lightning-fast VPN that provides you with a lag-free experience online, you should consider NordVPN.
You can get Ivacy VPN starting from $1.00/month, which is extra cheap considering you also get 10 simultaneous connections.

How we selected and tested these VPNs
To create our list of the best VPNs for Binance, we paid particular attention to the following criteria:
- Its ability to unblock Binance: It’s no surprise that this was the most important factor when selecting VPNs for this list. We tested out a range of different VPNs, and each of the providers that made it onto our list had a good range of servers in locations where Binance operates along with security measures to hide a device’s true IP address. All of the providers on our list was able to consistently bypass Binance’s restrictions.
- Security: Protecting your online identity is a popular reason to get a VPN, but security is even more important if you’re trading cryptocurrency. Every VPN that made it onto our list has a strong suite of security features to keep your data completely private while you’re online.
- Speed: Whatever you’re doing online, you’ll want fast and reliable speeds, particularly if there’s money at stake. We tested all the VPNs mentioned here to make sure they deliver a smooth, buffer-free experience.

Why do I need a VPN for Binance?
Thanks to US regulations, Binance isn’t available in the US. If you try to use it inside the US, you’ll either be blocked from entering the site, or you’ll be redirected to the US version of Binance, which is heavily restricted. It only allows you roughly 150 cryptocurrency options, as opposed to the 350+ options included in the main service. The pared-down version isn’t available in every US state, and it also charges higher fees than the full version.
Therefore, if you’re in the US and you want the full Binance experience, you’ll need to use a VPN provider. A VPN works by changing your IP address to hide your true location. This enables you to connect to a server in a country that has full access to Binance so that you can bypass its geo-restrictions.
But even if you're in a country that already has Binance, it’s vital to get a VPN for security reasons. A VPN also encrypts your data to keep it completely private, which is especially important if you’re trading cryptocurrency online.
Aside from that, a VPN comes with a whole host of other benefits, including hiding your activity from your internet service provider (ISP), which will stop your speeds from being throttled. And not only will it unblock Binance, but it’ll also allow you to bypass geo-restrictions on loads of other sites and services. In fact, one of the most popular uses of a VPN is to unblock streaming services from other parts of the world, such as BBC iPlayer, HBO Max, and different versions on Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and Disney Plus.
Why is Binance banned in the US?
In 2019, Binance was banned from doing business in the US on regulatory grounds. This is because it uses securities that the Commodity Futures Trading Commission hasn’t approved.
On top of this, Binance is now also being investigated by the United States Department of Justice and Internal Revenue Service for serious crimes, such as tax evasion and money laundering. It’s claimed that Binance allowed US citizens to make illegal trades. Another legal woe is that the company CEO Changpeng Zhao is being sued by the US SEC on 13 charges for alleged violations of US securities rules.
In response to this, the cryptocurrency exchange giants launched Binance US, a separate company registered with the United States Financial Crimes Enforcement Network. However, although it complies with US rules and regulations, it’s far more restricted than the full version. It only gives you access to around 150 cryptocurrency options instead of the 350+ available to US residents before the ban.
To make matters worse, Binance US is currently banned in seven states, meaning that a significant number of people in the US can’t access Binance in any form. However, a lot of people are now getting around this by using a VPN to connect to a server in a country that hasn't banned Binance, allowing them to continue trading without any restrictions.
Where Binance is not allowed?
There are numerous locations where Binance is not allowed due to worldwide regulations, lack of transparency, crypto derivates, and more reasons. Binance (as well as Binance Futures) is also restricted in some of the US states, including:
- New York
As for other locations, trading on Binance is completely banned in:
Since Binance is restricted (or banned) in so many locations, VPN is an ideal workaround to bypass geo-restrictions and access Binance trading. We recommend using top-tier VPN providers, such as NordVPN, Surfshark, or other premium ones.
Is it legal to use a VPN with Binance?
Yes, it’s perfectly legal to use a VPN with Binance. However, you should bear in mind that Binance is banned in the US. Therefore, using a VPN to access it while you’re in the US goes against Binance’s Terms of Service. If Binance detects that you’re using a VPN, it might ban you from the site.
And while using a VPN to log into Binance isn’t illegal, any illegal activity done while you’re connected to it will still be breaking the law. So it’s important to make sure you avoid any illegal activities while you’re using Binance in the US.
Can I use a free VPN for trading on Binance?
Yes, technically, you can use a free VPN for trading on Binance but we don’t recommend it because it doesn’t stand a good chance of working.
Free VPNs usually have tight budgets, and so they can’t offer the same quality or quantity of servers as you’d get from a paid-for service. Therefore, if you use one to connect to Binance, it will be far more likely that your traffic is recognized as coming from a VPN and could result in your account being blocked by the site.
Aside from this, free VPNs tend to be a lot slower and less user-friendly than more reputable alternatives. And more worryingly, they’re usually not as reliable, with far fewer security features available. In fact, a large number of free providers make their profit by selling customer data to third parties. As security is of paramount importance for anyone wanting to trade cryptocurrency, we’d strongly recommend paying a small monthly fee for any of the providers mentioned in our list above.
If you want to try a free VPN, we’d advise opting for a freemium service, which is a free version of a paid-for VPN. They’re usually a lot more limited and often come with a data cap, but they tend to be a lot more secure than providers that only offer free services.
If you want to trade on Binance in the US, or bypass geo-restrictions, VPN is the best tool for that. However, not all VPNs can unblock Binance, and the platform may ban your account if it recognizes a VPN traffic.
That’s why we recommend using NordVPN that has proven to access Binance without detection. It comes with 5,900+ servers in 60 countries, offers top-notch protection, and anonymity on such platforms for only $2.99/month.
Overall, a VPN also improves your online security. It encrypts your Internet traffic, which keeps it completely safe from cybercriminals, government bodies, and other third parties. Hence, you’re anonymous and secure at all times.

It also applies excellent privacy measures to keep your trades completely anonymous from third party tracking.
Can I use a VPN to access Binance?
Yes, a VPN is an excellent way to access Binance from anywhere in the world, even if you’re in a country where it’s currently banned, such as the US. However, Binance may ban your account if it detects you’re using a VPN. Therefore, it’s important to use a VPN that can go undetected by Binance, such as NordVPN.
Which countries can’t use Binance?
Binance is restricted but still usable in the US, the UK, and Canada. It has also been given three months to cease operating in the Netherlands. Furthermore, Binance has received warnings about operating in Malaysia.
