DHS removes “banger” deportation propaganda featuring influencer Theo Von

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) used Theo Von in its latest pro-ICE raid propaganda post, and the comedian isn’t happy about it.

“Yooo, DHS, I didn't approve of being used in this. I know you know my address, so send a check,” said comedian and podcast host Theo Von via X.

DHS’s post, which has since been taken down, showed the podcaster saying, “heard you got deported dude, bye.”

“Please take this down, and please keep me out of your 'banger’ deportation videos. When it comes to immigration, my thoughts and heart are a lot more nuanced than this video allows. Bye!” replied Von in the now removed post seen by CNN.

While it’s unclear if the post was removed by X or taken down by the DHS, this is just another ploy to get younger people on the Trump Administration’s anti-immigration front.

Cybernews previously reported that the DHS had posted a Pokémon-themed propaganda post, showing ICE agents, or Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents, breaking into homes and arresting people.

Pokémon’s protagonist, Ash, is also featured within the montage, as he uses his Poké Ball to capture immigrants.

At the end of the video, various immigrants who have been detained for allegedly committing crimes such as child endangerment, child molestation, and homicide are depicted as Pokémon cards.

The video has now over 72 million views, reaching audiences far and wide, including angry Pokémon and Nintendo fans.

These relentless raids have been ongoing since the beginning of 2025 and have sparked mass protests across the country.

As the ICE raids have been met with resistance in states like California and Chicago, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) appears to be appealing to Gen Z and younger Americans by using popular cartoons and influencers to promote mass deportation.
