How to watch the Golden Globes online 2022

It’s almost time for one of the entertainment world’s biggest nights - the 79th annual Golden Globes Awards ceremony.

Second only to the Oscars in popularity and prestige, the Golden Globes Awards celebrate the best in film and television with a glamorous awards ceremony.

It will be broadcast live on American TV, the NBC website and various streaming services in the US on Sunday, January 9 2022.

But what if you want to watch the Golden Globes from outside the United States?

Many streaming services offer free trials, but you will still need to find a way to access them from outside the US. Luckily, you can do that with a VPN.

Setting up a VPN is pretty simple, and it’s even easier with our help. Here’s how to set up a VPN and watch the 2022 Golden Globes online.

Quick guide to watch the 2022 Golden Globes stream online

  1. Pick a VPN that suits your needs. NordVPN comes highly recommended, now 72% OFF!
  2. Install your chosen VPN on device.
  3. Connect the server to anywhere in the USA.
  4. Choose a streaming service that’s broadcasting the Golden Globes, like Hulu Live TV.
  5. Sign up for your chosen streaming site’s free trial (remember to cancel before the trial is up).
  6. Dim the lights, get the popcorn ready, and watch the show.

Do you need a VPN to stream the Golden Globe awards?

The rights to show the Golden Globes belong to American television channel NBC. It exclusively broadcasts the awards show on its channel and website. This has been the case for many years.

You could try to watch the awards on the NBC website. But if you don't have a US cable TV account, you won’t be able to access it, and you’ll likely get a “Live Stream Unavailable in Your Area” pop-up message.

A number of streaming services, such as Hulu Live TV and FuboTV, also broadcast the Golden Globes Awards. You won’t need a cable TV account, but you will need an account with the streaming service.

Broadcasts of the Golden Globes are also geo-restricted, which means they can only be watched in the US, as per NBC’s rights.

But, you can bypass these hurdles with the help of a VPN. A VPN can issue you a different IP address. So, if you select a server based in the US through your VPN, a website can’t tell you’re on a computer in the UK, Germany or wherever you may be, because you will have a US IP address.

This way, you can connect to a streaming service of your choosing, and, on the night of the Golden Globes awards, simply search for the NBC channel to start watching.

Watch the 2022 Golden Globes awards stream on different devices

You can watch the Golden Globes Awards from outside the US on your laptop or desktop computer, providing you install a VPN to mask your IP address. Then, sign up for a free trial with a streaming service, like Sling TV, and you’ll be ready to watch.

If you want to watch the Golden Globes awards on your smartphone or tablet, you can download a VPN that also supports mobile.

NordVPN offers an app both for Android and iOS devices that will help you connect to a streaming service from your tablet or smartphone.
