Dyson launched its first AI toothbrush at the start of September. However, not even 2 weeks later, it started disappearing from the market.
The Dyson CameraJet toothbrush is an AI-powered device with a camera that helps users clean hard-to-reach areas, thereby ensuring better oral care, according to Dyson.
However, the $500 toothbrush is no longer available on Dyson’s website following several user complaints.

A botched product?
A French product designer shared more insights into the sudden recall on X.
“I have a source who just informed me that a bit of a PR disaster is brewing at Dyson regarding their toothbrushes. Apparently, things aren't looking good at Dyson. Recall and sales ban,” their post in French read.
They also added a screenshot of an email from Dyson informing the user that their device had been returned to the company’s warehouse.
The post prompted others to share their experiences with another user who works in retail, revealing that toothbrush sales were suspended due to an “overheating issue and defects related to the brush head change.”
A number of users then shared the issues they encountered while using the device. Some noticed that parts of the toothbrush were already oxidizing, while others had charging issues.

“Overheating issue, the impacted toothbrushes break down after the first use. That'll be fixed in the next batches. But yeah, definitely a major bad buzz,” added one user on X.
Similar issues were also reported on Reddit, with several users finding water in the battery compartment.
“This is a definite non-buy right now,” wrote one netizen, hinting that they would wait for the next device release.
“Went to buy one earlier and was told they’ve been pulled from sale in the UK temporarily due to an issue,” added another user, hinting that the issue has been affecting Dyson CameraJet users all around the world.
