Windows 11 updates have caused a number of bugs, and the list keeps growing.
On its community page, Microsoft admitted problems with DACs (digital to analog converter), which were caused by the January 14-released Windows 11 24H2 KB5050009 patch.
After installing the update, which addressed security issues, users noticed that they couldn’t connect their headphones as USB DAC ports didn’t work.
As a result of this issue, the Device Manager might display the error ‘This device cannot start.’
According to Microsoft, the only solution to the problem is to stop using DACs until the company releases a new update. Currently, the company doesn’t provide an explanation of what causes the issue.
Windows Latest notes that the latest Windows patch also affects Bluetooth headphones. After installing the KB5050009, there is no audio, and the only remedy is to uninstall the update.
Other issues include bugs with Ctrl+Alt+Del or Task Manager, Alt+Tab crashing when playing games, installation errors, and issues with Dell monitors that do not detect built-in cameras.
Last year’s Windows 11 updates crashed Ubisoft games, including Assasin’s Creed. Other issues affected scanners and printers, fax machines, modems, and network devices supporting the SCL scan protocol.
