Elon Musk's AI video generator can create explicit videos of celebrities — in this case, Taylor Swift, — without prompting, according to a recent report.
According to Jess Weatherbed from The Verge, Grok Imagine readily spilled out uncensored videos of Taylor Swift the first time she used it, without even being formally asked to remove Swift's clothes.
There are four presets available on Grok — you can first turn text into an image with a prompt, and then use the presets, such as “Custom,” “Normal,” “Fun,” and “Spicy” to easily make videos using the image.
Upon the request to generate images using the prompt “Taylor Swift celebrating Coachella with the boys”, Grok came back with over 30 images, some of which already showcased Swift in revealing clothes.
The report added that there wasn’t a proper age verification method added when downloading the app. But from the image, the user simply had to click “make video”, select the ‘spicy’ category, and confirm their date of birth to receive a video depicting Swift dancing topless in a thong.
“The age check only appeared once and was laughably easy to bypass, requesting no proof that I was the age I claimed to be,” Weatherbed writes.
Although the ‘spicy’ preset didn’t necessarily result in nudity in some of the other Verge’s attempts to turn Swift images into videos, some of them had her taking off most of her clothes.
Weatherbed adds that the image generator can also generate photos of children, but does not animate them inappropriately — despite the ‘spicy’ option still being present. Although available for selection, it just adds regular movement.
X already has a troubling history with Taylor Swift deepfakes. In 2024, sexually explicit AI-generated images of Swift flooded X and were viewed a staggering 47 million times before being taken down.
Earlier in July, Grok released spicy ‘Companions’ — two three-dimensional, animated characters that users can interact with using their voice. One of such character is Ani, a pornographic anime girl.
