Trump again resorts to AI slop to attack political opponents

US President Donald Trump has posted an AI-generated video on Truth Social mocking Democrats as “a bunch of woke pieces of s***” over a potential government shutdown.

The video features deepfakes of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, with the latter shown with a sombrero and a fake mustache.

Only the fake Schumer has a speaking role, stating against the mariachi music in the background: “Look guys, there’s no way to sugarcoat it, nobody likes Democrats anymore.”

The digitally altered Democrat was then heard saying that “we have no votes left because of all our woke, trans bullshit,” and that “not even Black people want to vote for us anymore.”

“Even Latinos hate us, so we need new voters, and if we give all these illegal aliens free health care, we might be able to get them on our side so they can vote for us,” the fake Schumer said.

“They can't even speak English, so they won’t realize we’re just a bunch of woke pieces of shit, you know, at least for a while until they learn English and they realize they hate us too,” the fabricated voice said.

Trump posted the video on his platform, Truth Social, after meeting with Schumer and Jeffries in the Oval Office in a failed attempt to avert a government shutdown, which would be the first in seven years.

The root of disagreement is largely centered on healthcare issues, with the Democrats refusing to back the Republican spending bill that does not include an extension of health insurance subsidies.

The Republicans have accused the Democrats of seeking to fund free healthcare for undocumented immigrants, to which Trump’s video also refers, and which the Democrats say is not true, as most unauthorized migrants are barred from federally funded health care programs.

In a response on X, the real Schumer said: “If you think your shutdown is a joke, it just proves what we all know: You can’t negotiate. You can only throw tantrums.”

Jeffries also offered his response on X, where he said: “Bigotry will get you nowhere. Cancel the cuts. Lower the cost. Save healthcare. We are NOT Backing down.”

In a separate post, he shared a picture of Trump with convicted paedophile financier Jeffrey Epstein, captioned, “This is real.”

While the Republicans control both chambers of Congress, they are short of the 60 votes they need to pass the spending bill in the Senate, or upper chamber.

It is not the first time Trump has resorted to AI slop to attack political opponents. In July, he posted an AI-generated video depicting the arrest of former President Barack Obama.
