Bye, 6-7? Social media is now obsessed with 7x7=49

Netizens are wrapping their heads around the mathematical equation 7x7=49 that has sparked memes on social media.
The trend began on April 1st, 2026, when TikToker Kyyra shared a since-deleted video stating that women care much more than just looks when it comes to a man, according to Know Your Meme.
The video, which garnered 38 million views and confused many, displayed images of characters and subjects that women supposedly find attractive, such as the horse Spirit from the movie Stallion of the Cimarron and a headless mannequin. It also included the “7×7=49” equation.
Despite initial confusion, the multiplication inspired a trove of memes.
“When he is offering me the world, but the 7×7=49 walks by,” a TikTok video caption says.
Male TikTokers joined the trend too, saying they cannot compete with the mathematical equation, or pretending to be one.
“When we play ‘kiss, marry, kill,’ and she marries 7×7=49, kisses and kills you,” another TikToker said.
So, what does 7×7=49 mean exactly? It appears to refer to something women find attractive.
There may be no deeper meaning in the equation, similar to the 6-7 craze, which involves screaming these numbers and making hand moves after encountering them in real life.
The 7×7=49 equation is often mentioned alongside the words “navy blue” and “Thursday,” which also seem to describe something attractive and someone’s type.
Or it may be that netizens are simply embracing the absurdity of both the internet and our daily lives, with meaningless memes serving as a coping mechanism for the current state of the world.
