Blue Origin conspiracy theories run rampant on social media, users claim “you can’t unsee it”

Following Blue Origin’s historical all-female spaceflight, social media users started questioning the legitimacy of the mission. Oh, and Satan is involved somehow, too.
The New Shepard spacecraft, created by Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin, embarked on its full female spaceflight on Monday, April 14th, 2025.
Aboard the ship was pop star Katy Perry, producer Kerianne Flynn, research scientist Amanda Nguyen, broadcast journalist Gayle King, author, journalist, and Jeff Bezos’ fiance Lauren Sánchez, and former NASA rocket scientist Aisha Bowe.

This historic moment, however, has been dampened by insane conspiracy theories that have taken over social media.
The hatch drama
The first conspiracy is that the whole thing was faked. Footage of the landing supposedly shows the capsule door being first opened from the inside and then opened again by Bezos from the outside.
X user and zetetic researcher Billy Zig broadcast this to his 22,000 followers. “Here’s definitive proof that the Blue Origin mission was faked.”

While Blue Origin doesn’t specifically say which way the hatches should open, many X users argue that hatches tend to open from the outside.
The capsule came back clean
Another factor that made users suspicious of the whole operation was the state of the capsule when it landed.
Users said that upon re-entry, the capsule should look a lot less polished than when it set off.
This is due to the intense heat and aerodynamic forces attacking the spaceship's exterior.

The lack of bruises and bumps upon re-entry seemed to signal to users that the whole event was a hoax.
W.R. Schock, founder of iontecs quantum biodynamics, claims that “glass melts before ceramic tiles like the ones on the nosecone of the space shuttle shown here at reentry in 1979 where they were burned off.”
Schock broadcast to his almost 80,000 followers that the paint on the capsule was “perfectly un-scorched” and that the capsule itself was fake.

However, as Blue Origin’s New Shepard is a reusable, suborbital rocket system, it will have technology that may prevent damage to the ship.
For example, heat shields are thermal tiles that protect rockets from the extremely high temperatures that the spacecraft experiences during re-entry, says NASA.
Satanic ritual
Some users have gone as far as to say that the entire mission was a satanic ritual.
The patch on Perry’s suit is said to hold some kind of hidden meaning when it's turned around.
Instead of seeing just a spacecraft in the middle of the patch, users seem to think that if you flip it, you can see the image of Baphomet.
Ok...y'all know I'm a conspiracy kinda gal..

Hollywood is evil..
You know those space suits the Blue Origin women wore, look at this patch... they don't even try to hide the devils work.
Flip that blue patch.

Baphomet is a figure usually associated with the occult and Western esoteric traditions.
The figure is anthropomorphic, having the head of a goat but the body of a human. Baphomet is well known as a satanic deity.
While this all sounds convincing enough, there are alternative explanations that may help us understand the emblem on Perry and other crewmates' suits.
Firstly, the actual image on their suits is of a spaceship, not Baphomet. It’s quite clear when it’s in the correct position.

While the spaceship, the New Shepard, was named after Alan Shepard, the first American to travel into space, the goat or sheep-like image could be a nod to this idea of space travel becoming the new norm and that Perry and others are guiding us through this new frontier.
Comments
The idea that the government is controlled by a secret group of occultists is too hard for most people to believe, but don't dismiss it.
