Grok, Elon Musk’s very own chatbot, is said to be funny, unruly, and sarcastic. However, inaccurate is another adjective that could be added to the list, as Grok can’t properly generate images of Musk’s product.
Musk’s AI model has been described as bold, rebellious, and humorous, responding to questions that most AI bots would refuse to answer.
The Tesla and X CEO said before the release of his chatbot Grok in November 2023 that “In some important respects, it is the best that currently exists.”
Tomorrow, @xAI will release its first AI to a select group.

In some important respects, it is the best that currently exists.
However, netizens are speculating that despite the potentially high volume of Cybertruck training images the chatbot may have, it still doesn’t know what a Cybertruck is.
Wes Morill, a Cybertruck lead engineer at Tesla, said that he would wager that X has the “highest concentration of Cybertruck training images of any social media. So it’s extra disappointing when Grok absolutely nails the design aesthetic but has no clue what a Cybertruck looks like.”

Morill was playing around with Grok and wanted it to create a T-shirt design inspired by the Miami Grand Prix.
The prompt he used was:
Make a T-shirt design in the style of Miami GP, but instead of saying "Miami," it should say "Cybertruck," and instead of "GP," it should say "FSD." The F1 car should be replaced with a Tesla Cybertruck.
The original image couldn’t be displayed as it is only available to Grok Premium subscribers, but Morill added some “more awesome designs” generated by Grok in that style that “didn’t quite hit the mark.”

The designs certainly emulate the Miami Grand Prix, but the cars present within the images are completely different from the Cybertruck.
As much as it is controversial, the Cybertruck is very distinctive and arguably iconic in its design.
While the text “FSD,” which potentially stands for “Full Self-Driving” and “Cybertruck,” are all there, the cars depicted range from Formula 1 cars to monster truck-like vehicles with a Tesla logo slapped on.
Another X user, IroncladDev, a full-stack developer with over 7,000 followers, highlighted a similar problem: "Grok doesn’t know what a Cybertruck looks like.”
The user asked Grok to generate an image of a Tesla Cybertruck and got this…

Similarly, Timothy Dooner, a podcaster with 20,000 followers on X and host of the FreightWaves flagship show ‘What the Truck,’ commented on Grok’s inability to generate an accurate image of a Cybertruck.
Dooner’s prompt:
“Donald Trump standing in front of a Cybertruck while eating a bunch of hot dogs. He is in a truckstop parking lot, and a group of truckers are cheering him on like it is the Nathan’s hot dog eating competition.”
Oddly specific.
Unsurprisingly, Grok generated an accurate picture of Donald Trump holding a plate of hot dogs with people cheering around him – but no Cybertruck.

Despite Musk stating that “Grok has real-time access to info via the X platform,” which has hoards of pictures and images of Cybertrucks, it just can’t seem to generate an accurate image of the vehicle.
Grok has real-time access to info via the 𝕏 platform, which is a massive advantage over other models.

It’s also based & loves sarcasm. I have no idea who could have guided it this way 🤷♂️ 🤣 pic.twitter.com/e5OwuGvZ3Z
This real-time access to information is what Musk calls “a massive advantage” over other models on the market. It has a long way to go before it generates images of Musk’s products.
