Justin Bieber “congratulates” wife Hailey on Vogue cover

Justin Bieber has struck a chord with social media users after his backhanded congratulatory message to his wife, Hailey Bieber, went viral.

Social media is often considered the wild west, where people believe they can do and say anything they want without suffering the consequences.

This even extends to celebrities whose years of media training are quickly erased after posting something controversial on social media.

One celebrity who has been in the spotlight for his erratic behaviour on social media (and no, it’s not Kanye West this time) has turned hundreds of thousands of heads after his “congratulatory” post to his wife on Instagram.

Justin Bieber’s wife, Hailey Bieber, recently did a shoot for the cover of Vogue Magazine, which is one of the highest honors in the celebrity world.

As a husband does, Justin Bieber congratulated his wife, but not in the way you might think.

He wrote, in the now edited post, that Hailey’s Vogue cover reminds him of a time that they got into a fight.

“Yo this reminds me when Hailey and I got into a huge fight.” OK, a bit weird, but this could be going somewhere. “I told Hails that she would never be on the cover of Vogue.” Ouch.

“Yikes, I know so mean. For some reason because I felt so disrespected I thought I gotta get even.”

Justin Bieber’s post continues with some talk about growth and maturity, but ends with a cold, backhanded congratulations which reads, “So baby u already know but forgive me for saying u wouldn’t get a Vogue cover cuz clearly I was sadly mistaken.”

The post, which got 1.5 million likes on Instagram, had netizens confused and clearly irritated by Justin’s words. The viral post also received over 42,000 comments and 170,000 reshares.

One user wrote, “Hailey doesn’t need new haters, she has the biggest one at home.”

Another user said that Justin is “slowly turning into Kanye West.”

The viral post riled up social media users, sparking larger conversations about the pair’s relationship.

It understandably angered a lot of women, as Justin Bieber seemingly went out of his way to humiliate his wife via the internet on a day that should’ve been celebrated.
