King Charles is the “I listen to everything” monarch, according to his Apple playlist

Ever wondered what music the British royals listen to? Apple does, and the music giant plans to release a playlist of all of King Charles’ favorite hits.

Music is a unifier for everyone, even royalty, and if you’ve ever wanted to know what kind of music the King of England listens to, then you’re in luck.

Apple is releasing King Charles’ personal playlist on Monday March 10th, 2025 to celebrate music from across the Commonwealth.

“Throughout my life, music has meant a great deal to me. It has that remarkable ability to bring happy memories, comfort in times of sadness, and to take us to distant places,” King Charles said.

King Charles is the epitome of “I listen to everything,” as the playlist includes music from the 1930s to lively Afro Beats.

“Disco divas and reggae icons” are all on the list, said Apple, and it seems that no artist is left behind, not even Australian pop icon Kylie Minogue.

Artists like the legendary Bob Marley and the incredible Grace Jones can be heard on the King’s playlist, along with modern talent like British musician RAYE and Nigerian-American singer-songwriter Davido.

The tech giant said that The King’s Music Room, Apple Music’s exclusive show, will be a “musical journey” that aims to reflect “His Majesty’s personal taste.”

The broadcast marks this year's Commonwealth Day and will delve into the King of England’s personal encounters with some of the artists featured on the playlist.

In the trailer, a brass band can be heard playing Bob Marley’s Could You Be Loved, which signals that Marley is perhaps a musician beloved by King Charles and an important part of the Commonwealth.

“The Commonwealth has produced more than its fair share of wonderful songs, singers, and musicians, and this fun and eclectic collection is a great reminder of this treasure trove of creativity,” Errollyn Wallen CBE, Master of the King’s Music.

Another prominent figure who relishes in the joy of music is former US president Barack Obama.

Obama has shared his Spotify summer playlists since 2015, apart from his two-year hiatus in 2017 and 2018.

The former US president also has an eclectic music taste, which is demonstrated by his 2024 summer playlist.

Obama listens to, as per his playlist, Charli XCX, Billie Eilish, 2Pac, and The Rolling Stones.
