Apple might be entering the foldable smartphone market next year.
Leaker @QQ_Timmy on X has shared some juicy details about Apple’s future foldable smartphone.
The device is expected to be similar to the Galaxy Z Fold and have a 12-inch internal display.
According to another blogger and X user, @Jukanlosreve, who also shared a summary of the released information, the new smartphone is expected to have a folding mechanism on the left rear side. When folded, the new device would be 9.2mm in thickness and 4.6mm when unfolded.
The Apple foldable is anticipated to be released in the fall of 2026, with an estimated sales volume of eight to ten million units.
The shared details also reveal that Samsung, known for its extensive experience in making foldable displays, will develop the display.
Further detailing discloses that the smartphone’s midframe could be made from aluminum. It’s also speculated that the company could change it to titanium, for better durability.
The shared information also details the camera specifications, which include a dual-lens camera in the back. Its front camera is expected to be equipped with metalens technology, which would be used for a smaller Dynamic Island.

While Apple might still be working on a foldable smartphone, some companies have already got a foothold in the market.
Samsung has been developing foldable smartphones since 2019. Last year, the company released its latest model, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6.
Samsung and Huawei have stepped up their game by entering the race to release the first trifold smartphone.
Huawei surpassed Samsung by releasing the first trifold smartphone in the autumn of 2024, pricing the device at $2800.
More companies have been introducing foldable devices to the market, among which are Pixel, Motorola, and Honor Magic.
