LG's bendable gaming monitor, Lenovo's rollable laptop, and Nvidia's latest GPUs are just a few highlights that we're getting excited about.
In just a couple of days, tech enthusiasts will turn their eyes to CES 2025, the first major consumer tech show of 2025, which will be held from January 7th to 10th in Las Vegas.
Among the 4300 attendees, there will be major tech companies such as Sony, LG, Samsung, Intel, Asus, and many startups, ready to showcase their gadgets to consumers and introduce novel concepts.
This year, representatives from our Gadgets and YouTube teams will also attend the event to bring you both written and video content from the show.
As CES 2025 approaches, we look at some of the most exciting tech that we expect to see at the show.
Nvidia’s keynote and press events
While the official exhibition starts on January 7th, there will be plenty of announcements prior to that, as major brands will be rushing to launch their tech ahead of others.
Some of the major presentations will be made on January 6th, when companies like LG Electronics, Hisense, TCL, Samsung, and Sony will hold press conferences.
LG, for example, has promised several innovations across a few categories. The company teased the world’s first bendable gaming monitor at 5K2K resolution, new Gram-series AI laptops, and more. And Samsung has announced its upcoming home appliances and AI monitors, among other things.
After the press conferences, the official consumer show will be kicked off by Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's keynote on the evening of January 6th. Huang is expected to unveil Nvidia’s RTX 50 series graphic processors, the most powerful and highly anticipated GPUs by the gaming community.
Prior to Nvidia taking the spotlight, AMD will reveal its own advancements in GPUs at the press event. It is rumored that the company will skip the Radeon RX 8000 graphic cards series and jump straight to the Radeon RX 9000.
AI laptops and wearables
After Huang’s keynote, the next few days of the show will feature further high-profile announcements, including CEOs from Delta, Volo Group, Waymo, X, and others.
As the CES 2025 officially starts on Jan 7th, expect to hear much more about consumer gadgets from other vendors.
Last year, Rabbit’s AI assistant, R1, was one of the most hyped gadgets of the show. We’re not convinced that similar AI assistants will make waves at this year’s show, as the general public will be more conscious of companies’ promises after last year’s failures.
However, AI will certainly be a hot trend at CES 2025, with companies releasing their AI chips, AI agents, and updated AI PCs.
Intel is set to unveil its Arrow Lake CPUs, while Asus is scheduled to announce the world’s lightest Zenbook Copilot PC, with a battery reportedly lasting for up to 32 hours.
LG's upgraded Gram series laptops will include four devices and will be the company’s first-ever Copilot + PC. In addition to Copilot + capabilities, the Gram laptops will run LG’s own AI called Gram AI, allowing users to run the company’s large language models offline as well as use cloud-based GPT-4o when connected to the internet.
In addition, Lenovo is set to showcase its rollable laptop, though we don’t know its specs yet.
Beyond laptops, AI will be at the heart of many wearables, especially augmented reality (AR) smart glasses, and extended reality (XR) headsets.
Sony is expected to unveil its XR headset; Xreal will showcase its updated One Pro AR glasses, while startups like Looktech are set to unveil more affordable smart glasses.
Cars and holographic display
In recent years, car manufacturers have increasingly used CES to showcase their vehicles and innovations. 2025 will be no different, with many EVs and autonomous cars storming the show.
Honda recently confirmed that it will announce two new 0 Series models, which will be launched in global markets in 2026.
Meanwhile, Hyundai is set to showcase the world's first full-window holographic display. The new display will be featured in Kia's electric vehicle, the EV9, which will also be unveiled at this year’s CES.
According to Hyundai, the system integrates specialized optical film to provide easy access to key information while maintaining an open, spacious feel and improving overall driving safety.
TVs and monitors
There will also be plenty of news regarding new screens and TVs. Last year, companies debuted quite a few novel TVs, including a whopping 115-inch miniLED TV from TCL and LG’s transparent Signature OLED T, which started to retail a few weeks ago for $60,000.
This year, we expect to see new variations of transparent screens and improved displays with OLED and MiniLED screens with even better resolutions. LG, for example, is set to showcase its 88-inch 8K Signature OLED TV.
Meanwhile, Samsung is preparing five new AI monitors, including the industry’s first 27-inch 4K 240Hz OLED Odyssey OLED G8 and 32-inch Smart Monitor M9 with significantly enhanced AI features.
Gaming
Aside from graphics cards from Nvidia and AMD, CES will bring quite a few gadgets for gamers.
Asus is said to be revealing the ROG Nuc series, its next-gen gaming PC, and the Strix series laptops. Both of these are rumored to feature the upcoming Nvidia RTX 50 GPUs.
At this year’s show, Lenovo is planning to announce its updated Legion Gaming handhelds, while Alienware is likely will show off laptops with advanced cooling systems.
And, of course, there will be companies like Razer, which always have new, crazy, and wild gaming concepts up their sleeves.
Other tech
In addition to the devices mentioned, many more products will be showcased across various categories. We will likely not hear much about smartphones, as they’re usually announced at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
But there will be plenty of other tech products, from smart home devices to routers and PC accessories and components.
Robotics may be a hot trend to follow, as some, including Nvidia, expect it to be the next big thing after AI. Companies will show their robots, such as one capable of assisting during surgeries, robotic vacuum cleaners, and more.
