An iPhone for all: Apple works on low-end smartphone for 2025

What do you call a smartphone that looks like an iPhone 14 but has the “brain” of an iPhone 16? It’s the iPhone SE.

Now that Apple’s star of the show, the iPhone 16, is out, the company is planning to release its low-end smartphone.

The last time the iPhone SE went through an upgrade was in 2022, when the smartphone was equipped with 5G.

This time, the new iPhone should undergo a design change with its home button being removed, resembling an iPhone 14.

The new device, which should be released in 2025, will help the company compete in the entry-level smartphone market alongside manufacturers like Xiaomi and Huawei, reports Bloomberg.

The more affordable iPhone version should also be one of a few models that are equipped with Apple Intelligence, a feature that only the company’s latest smartphone models are capable of running.

The current iPhone SE with 64GB space is priced at $429, which is one of the cheaper options from Apple’s smartphone selection. However, it still holds a higher price than its rivals.
