Apple has finished the release of its Mac devices with a bang by introducing its MacBook Pro M4 lineup.
Users can already pre-order the new MacBook Pro, depending on their needs. The new AI-powered laptops come with a 12 MP Center Stage camera, an all-new nano-texture display option, and Thunderbolt 5 ports in some of its models.
Powered by M4 chip lineup
Together with the new MacBook Pros, the company also announced its M4 chip lineup, which includes M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips.
Apple says it’s “the most advanced lineup of chips for a personal computer.” The chips were created to handle heavy workloads. They also include a powerful GPU and fast Neural Engine to handle AI-related tasks.
Another upgrade is a longer battery life, which can now stay up to 24 hours on a single charge.
MacBook Pro for everyone’s needs
The new MacBook Pros are powered by three different chips, suited to different needs and workloads.
The company states that the 14-inch MacBook Pro with an M4 chip was created for entrepreneurs, students, and creators. It includes a 10-core CPU, a 10-core GPU, and 16 GB of fast memory. The laptop also contains three Thunderbolt 4 ports.
With the new M4 chip, the latest MacBook Pro is 1.8 times faster than its predecessor, the M1 chip, during tasks like large photo editing or 3D rendering.
MacBookPro with M4 Pro was designed for users, such as researchers, developers, and engineers, who need even faster performance. The M4 Pro chip has a 14-core CPU and 20-core GPU, meaning it’s two times more powerful than the M4 chip.
With MacBook Pro M4 Max, Apple brings desktop-only work to a laptop by giving users a 16-core CPU, a 40-core GPU, and 128 GB of memory. The device with the M4 Max chip allows work with large AI models and delivers up to 3.5 times the performance compared to the M1 Max. The device can handle heavy workloads with visual effects, 3D animation, and film scoring.
General MacBook Pro specs
The latest MacBook Pro models also include an all-new nano-texture display option, which reduces glare and reflections, making it easier for users to work outdoors.
The MacBook Pro with M4 Pro and M4 Max comes with Thunderbolt 5 ports, while all MacBook Pro models include an HDMI port with 8K resolution, an SDXC card slot, a MagSafe 3 port, and a headphone jack together with support for Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3.
The company has already released some of its Apple Intelligence features, which can be employed on the new MacBook Pros in U.S. English with macOS Sequoia 15.1.
All new devices are available in space black and silver colors.
In the US, a 14-inch MacBook Pro M4 costs $1,599, while a 16-inch MacBook Pro M4 costs $2,499.
Pre-orders for MacBook Pros will start on October 30 in the US and 28 other countries and regions. The devices will be shipped and available to purchase on November 8.
Many speculations followed the launch of the latest MacBook Pro. One received a lot of attention, as it was a video of a Russian YouTuber who claimed to have Apple’s latest laptop before its official release. The situation was soon labeled as “unprecedented.”
The company has already announced the launch of redesigned Mac Mini and iMac M4.
