While new device reviews are nothing new, unboxing an unreleased laptop guarantees attention.
Wylsacom, a Russian YouTube channel with almost 11.5 million subscribers, reviewed the yet-to-be-announced M4 MacBook Pro on the weekend.
Official news about the latest Apple laptop should come out sometime this month, with a few leaks and speculations already doing the rounds.
Rumors suggest that the new device may be equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. People are also speculating that the new MacBook Pro could have a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU.
The unboxing video shows the packaging of the unconfirmed laptop, with details revealing that the device has an M4 chip, includes 16GB of memory, and has 512GB storage.
The box also indicates that the laptop has Thunderbolt 4 ports, an HDMI port, an SD card slot, and MagSafe.
Another detail shared in the video is that the new device is in Space Black color with a matching USB-C cable but a white charging brick.
One of the main questions was how the YouTuber received the latest Apple laptop. He addressed this in the video, jokingly saying an unidentified person jumped from the bushes and handed him the new M4 MacBook Pro.
The video, uploaded on Sunday, has more than 150,000 views. Mark Gurman, Bloomberg’s chief correspondent, shared the unboxing video on X (formerly Twitter), stating that the review seems to be “fairly legitimate.”
Unconfirmed but looks fairly legitimate: a Russian YouTube channel claims to have the yet to be announced M4 MacBook Pro and gave it a full unboxing and hands-on. We’ve seen prototypes leak early but never a full retail Apple device weeks in advance. https://t.co/LYrt68ZmEn

The review sparked a discussion online, with X users sharing their opinions on whether the video is real. Some questioned its power brick and the amount of RAM.
Others were interested in how the device could’ve ended up in the creator’s hands due to sanctions.
“How's Russia, a sanctioned state, getting their hands on this lol,” wrote one X user.
“I thought Apple stopped doing business with Russia,” noted another person online.
Another commentator questioned the situation. “Is this a flex by Putin to show he can get anything and get to anyone inside the USA?”
Despite the details, questions, and various interpretations that the video caused, some people online believed that the review could be real, as the creator has quite the following.
“The guy has 11.4 Million subs. I wouldn't assume it's a fake with a channel that big,” noted X user.
Apple’s latest laptop, along with the Mac Mini and iMac, all equipped with an M4 chip, should be revealed sometime this month during Apple’s October event. The device release is possibly scheduled for November.
The Pro version is expected to come out in two sizes: 14-inch and 16-inch. The 14-inch MacBook Pro could cost around $1600, and the 16-inch laptop’s price could start at $2500.
