Apple users should make sure to keep up with the latest software updates.

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has announced a high-risk warning for Apple users with devices running iOS, macOS, iPadOS, watchOS, and visionOS.

On September 19th, not long after Apple launched its latest iPhone 16 smartphone, CERT-in released a warning about a number of vulnerabilities detected in Apple devices that affected their software.

  • iOS: Versions prior to 18 and 17.7

What are the risks in question? According to CERT-In, these vulnerabilities could provide attackers with “sensitive information, execute arbitrary code, bypass security restrictions, cause denial of service (DoS) conditions, bypass authentication, gain elevated privileges and perform spoofing attacks on the targeted system.”

To minimize risks, users are recommended to update their devices to the latest software versions.
