Headset users will finally have an updated immersive video library to scroll through.
Apple Immersive Video is a “storytelling format that leverages 3D video recorded in 8K with a 180-degree field of view and Spatial Audio to transport viewers to the center of the action,” states Apple.
Previously, it was noted that while the headset was equipped to show high-quality content, especially immersive videos, the library for such content was relatively scarce. Nevertheless, on July 18th, Apple marked the beginning of the new content release.
The company is starting with a new series called “Boundless,” which invites users to “experience once-in-a-lifetime trips from wherever they are” in a hot-air balloon.
Vision Pro users can expect a new piece of content, “Wild Life,” in August. The new series will allow users to “get up close and personal with some of the most charismatic creatures on the planet.”
Next on the Apple immersive video list is “Elevated,” which will premiere in September. It’s “an aerial travel series” that will take users around the Earth to show its diverse nature.
Among the newly prepared immersive content, users can also find a short action movie, “Submerged,” watch the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend, and go through “an immersive experience” featuring The Weeknd.
Just a month ago, Apple announced that it had been working with Blackmagic Design, a digital cinema company and hardware manufacturer, to create a camera specifically designed to make content for the Vision Pro device.
Apple has confirmed that this “comprehensive toolkit,” which includes “a brand-new Blackmagic camera – URSA Cine Immersive – and updated versions of DaVinci Resolve Studio and Apple Compressor,” will be launched sometime this year.
