Apple is still perfecting its smart ring idea by issuing another patent.
Rumors about Apple’s smart ring have been circulating for a while, especially considering the number of patents the company has issued related to the device.
Its latest offering reveals the possible future plans for the company’s smart ring, which, according to the document, could monitor other Apple devices such as Vision Pro, Mac, or TV.
The patent shows a system that would allow its smart ring, smartwatch, or headset to interact with other devices and be controlled by one another.
For example, a user could have implemented touch or gesture input on the first device to control content that’s shown on the second device's display.
The patent also illustrates an indirect control when a third device is present, which can be run by the first device to control the second device.
An Apple smart ring used with a Mac or TV would help authenticate the user when they need to unlock a device or choose a certain account. It would also be able to adjust audio or video settings, select speakers, adjust applications, select sources, and more.
Of course, Apple’s future smart ring will not only control the other devices but also track users' health statistics. Such information may include heart rate and blood oxygen-related information, skin temperature, and even electrocardiogram readings, first reports Patently Apple.
