This new keyboard case turns any Android into a BlackBerry

Clicks has released a keyboard that can turn your smartphone into a BlackBerry.

The Clicks keyboard case is now available for some Android devices, including Google, Samsung, and Motorola devices.

The accessory, reminiscent of a BlackBerry keyboard, was first released last year for iPhone users. Now, the UK-based company has launched the case for Android smartphones, including foldable models such as Motorola Razr 2024.

The main advantage of the physical keyboard is that it works as an extension, freeing up space on the screen.

The accessory also includes keyboard shortcuts with which users can initiate their favorite apps or an AI assistant. To set the shortcuts, users need to download an app, which also allows users to change other settings, such as the keyboard's backlight.

The Clicks keyboard connects to the device via USB-C and can stay on while the smartphone is charging or data is being transferred.

While the company provides the accessory for multiple smartphones, it’s not available for all models. The latest addition to the selection is Clicks for Razr and Razr+. The keyboard for Razr foldable works on the inner and cover display.

Clicks keyboard is also available for Google Pixel 9 and Pixel 9 Pro, as well as for some Samsung models, including Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra.

The estimated shipping dates depend on the smartphone model. For example, pre-orders for Razr keyboards have already started, with estimated shipping starting on May 31st.

The cost of the accessory also varies according to the smartphone model. A keyboard for an iPhone starts from $139, while Clicks for Pixel 9 will be available for $99.

The news about Clicks for Android started a discussion online, with some wishing for an actual Blackberry comeback.

“This is not a BlackBerry phone. Sadly,” wrote one user online.

“Of course, it's not the real deal, but you can't find a better modern alternative,” noted another user.

Blackberry, the Canadian smartphone brand, stopped making phones in 2016 due to a decline in sales. In 2022, the company officially discontinued its smartphones.

Some Redditors were positive about the latest accessory from Clicks.

“I have been super hyped since I saw the videos some days ago – it looks amazing,” shared one.

“I can't wait for mine. I do wish it had capacitive scrolling and a similar style to the Bold/Classic keyboard though. A sliding keyboard case would be amazing,” noted another.
