Google Pixel, Samsung, Xiaomi, and more phone users can now film and edit their videos with Blackmagic Camera app.
Blackmagic Design, an Australian-based digital cinema company and hardware manufacturer, first launched its camera app for iOS in 2023. Last month, the same application became available for Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel devices.
The company has now announced the expansion of its camera app for Android devices. The new application works on Xiaomi 13/14, OnePlus 11/12, Samsung S21/S22, Google Pixel 6, 6 Pro and 6a phones.
The app was created to allow users to use "the same intuitive and user friendly interface as Blackmagic Design's award winning cameras."
The Blackmagic Camera 1.1 for Android is equipped with "Blackmagic's digital film camera controls and image processing." Users can adjust settings such as frame rate, shutter angle, white balance, and ISO.
With Blackmagic Cloud, users can upload their filmed content directly and later use DaVinci Resolve software for post-production edits.
The free-of-charge app is available on Google Play.
After the company shared the news on its X (formerly Twitter) account, some users shared that they couldn't download the app despite having a compatible smartphone model. Several people asked to expand the app's availability for Sony Xperia and Nothing phones.
