To mark its 50th anniversary, Casio has revealed its latest two-in-one device – a smart ring that looks like its classic watch.
The Casio CRW-001-1J is a smart ring that that looks like a mini watch that can be worn on your finger.
While the device combines the look of the two wearables, it isn’t equipped with as many features as a smart ring or a smartwatch.
The design of the smart ring is similar to its classic smartwatch – Casio GMW-B5000 – which was first released in 2018.
The device is made from stainless steel and includes a replaceable waterproof battery. The ring weighs 16 grams, which is much heavier than the Samsung Galaxy Ring, which weighs 2.3 grams, or the Oura Ring, which varies between 3.3 and 5.2 grams.
The ring comes in one size (size 10.5, according to US measurements) but includes spacers that help to adjust its fit.
When it comes to Casio smart ring features, users shouldn’t expect it to have the same range of features as other smart rings available in the market.
The company shared that the new device shows time, date, and dual time. It includes a stopwatch and a flashing light function that works at the set time.
The device may be only available in Japan and will cost¥19,800, which is around $130.
The release of Casio’s new device is scheduled for December 2024.
