The world's first luxury smart ring may replace traditional wedding bands

Getting your hands on the company's high-end wearable will require a trip to Paris or London.

Indian smart ring company Ultrahuman has released Rare, the first luxury smart ring. Its "Desert Collection" is showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas, so I went to check out the $2000 ring myself.

The collection offers three rings: Desert Snow (silver), Desert Rose (rose), and Dune (gold). The latter two are made from certified 18K Gold, while Desert Snow is crafted from pt950 platinum.

During the show, the rings were displayed in a glass showcase the whole time, and attendees could not try them on.

Ultrahuman's representative said that the rings, priced from $1800 to $2000, come with a higher warranty covering the ring even from scratches.

The Rare ring has the same features as the "regular" Ultrahuman ring and doesn't require a subscription.

Considering the hefty price of the wearable, the ring isn't catered to a general clientele but will instead be sold as a niche product. What makes it even more special is that the wearable can only be purchased in physical stores in Paris and London, with a few more locations available in the future.

While the Rare ring was created for people who want to wear their smart ring as jewelry, it could eventually become a new type of wedding band.

"That's the goal," shared one of Ultrahuman's representatives, who said that Rare was inspired by people who decided to replace their wedding band with a smart ring.
