Fitbit devices can now be found alongside Google products.
The Google Store is fully replacing Fitbit.com. From October 1st, users who want to purchase a Fitbit tracker or smartwatch must do so through the Google Store.
The company has announced that Fitbit products are no longer sold via Fitbit.com but can be bought through Google Store or “through select retail partners.”
This shouldn’t come as a surprise since Google, which acquired Fitbit in 2021, has been making changes this year, including to its website.
In July 2024, Fitbit users were informed that the company's website would be shut down and replaced by an app. The news disappointed users who complained about the app and its non-existent features.
Some users were also concerned whether the app could be discontinued in the future. However, there are no indications that this is part of the company’s plans, especially considering that Google Pixel smartwatches are also reliant on the Fitbit app for some additional tracking features.
