The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, formerly a subsidiary of Huawei, is reportedly launching a 10,000 mAh phone early next year.
To put that into perspective, most consumer smartphones on the market today run on batteries ranging between 4,500-5,000 mAh. Honor’s would be double that and last significantly longer between charges.
The new battery life would put the company’s new phone closer to a power bank in terms of how long it could last. Typical power banks have batteries ranging from 10,000 mAh to 20,000 mAh.
Honor has registered the new device, which it reportedly plans to launch in the first months of 2026, according to a leak shared on Weibo, the Chinese microblogging platform, and reported by local media.
While there are some phones on the market that come with batteries equivalent to power banks, most are bulky working phones not practical for daily use.
In comparison, Honor’s new phone will be incredibly thin – just under 9 mm thick – considering its powerful battery, according to reports. It will also feature a 6.79-inch 1.5K LTPS display, a MediaTek Dimensity 8500 processor, an optical fingerprint sensor and a “durable body.”
According to reports, the device is likely to debut as the Honor Power 2.
What does a 10,000 mAh battery mean?
A phone with a 10,000 mAh battery could last two to three days of heavy use, and up to a week with light use.
This means it would be perfect for weekend trips out in nature and could be used to charge other devices such as smartwatches, earphones, and even other phones.

A battery that needs to be charged less often may also last longer. It will also not heat up as fast with intense use and can handle power-hungry tasks, such as gaming, streaming, and artificial intelligence (AI) better.
A phone that looks like every other smartphone but can double as a power bank may also put pressure on other manufacturers to up their game when it comes to battery life.
