Huawei has introduced the first foldable computer in the world, beating Samsung in the race.
At the beginning of this year, the company introduced the world’s first tri-fold smartphone. Now, it has released its Huawei MateBook Fold Ultimate Design, the first foldable laptop with high-quality resolution.
When it comes to the device’s specifications, the MateBook Fold weighs 1.16 kg and is 7.3 mm thick when opened.
The device includes a double display. When folded, it has a 3:2 screen ratio and a 4:3 ratio when unfolded. Its screen is 18 inches when unfolded and 13 inches when folded, with a 3.3K resolution.

The laptop also has the world’s first dual-layer OLED screen with 1600 nits HDR peak brightness. It’s been reported that Huawei’s foldable PC includes LTPO technology with an adaptive refresh rate and the lowest energy consumption, reports Huawei Central.
One of the important details of a foldable device is its hinge, which on the MateBook Fold measures 285 mm. The company shared that the hinge allows it “to switch between horizontal, vertical, and folding modes.”
The laptop, which comes in three colors, is covered in leather and metal materials to give it a premium look, also making it water-resistant.
On the back, the device has an integrated stand, which allows the laptop to be used horizontally.

The foldable laptop runs on HarmonyOS and supports the Huawei ecosystem.
Huawei’s latest foldable, which comes with 32 GB RAM and 1TB, is priced at 24,000 yuan (around $3,300), with a 2TB storage device costing 27,000 yuan (around $3,700).
