A $2000 lens and filter system can turn your iPhone into a professional camera

Cinema Series is aimed at professional filmmakers who want to use their iPhones to create high-quality content.

Tusk, an audiovisual production company, has created the “world’s first commercial-grade mobile lens and filter system,” also known as Cinema Series.

The system, made in partnership with ShiftCam, a mobile photography company, is intended for filmmaking professionals who want their equipment to be portable but ensure high-quality imaging.

With Cinema Series, Tusk is set to “revolutionize mobile design filmmaking for professionals” by offering a kit for iPhone models from the iPhone 14 Pro to 16 Pro Max.

According to the company's Kickstarter campaign, the kit includes seven pro-grade lenses with fluorite crystal optics, eight magnetic filters, two iPhone cases, and five filter adapters.

The company has already surpassed its initial goal of receiving $10,293 on Kickstarter. It now has 70 backers and has raised almost $83,000.

When it comes to the price of the set, the full kit is available for $1,949 with an estimated delivery time of August this year.

While smartphone cameras seem to get better with each new model, there are still limitations due to the gadget’s physical characteristics.

Considering this, companies are taking different measures to ensure the device provides high-quality content but stays convenient to use.

For example, Xiaomi showcased its magnetic lens system during Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2025. The company aims to revive a technology that has already been tested by Sony, Motorola, and LG.
