The first frame TV was introduced by Samsung in 2017. Now, it’s LG’s turn, making its debut in the market at the beginning of 2026.
LG Electronics has announced the release of Gallery TV, its first frame-like style TV. The company joins other makers like Samsung, Skyworth, TCL, and Hisense, which have already established themselves in the niche category.
LG’s model will be available in two sizes: 55 inches and 65 inches, and it will utilize a 4K Mini LED panel. In terms of audio, the TV is equipped with AI Sound Pro (Virtual 9.1.2ch) audio, notes the company.
The TV comes with internal memory, allowing users to curate and store their own content, and includes magnetic and swappable frames.
The Gallery TV operates the LG Gallery+ service, a platform that hosts over 4,500 pieces of content, including fine art, cinematic scenes, animations, and game visuals.
Viewers can also create their own piece of art by using Generative AI or putting pictures from their own library.
The TV also includes a “Gallery Mode,” which was developed with museum curators, and which can optimize “color and brightness to reproduce the visual texture of original masterpieces.”
The new TV will be showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), which will take place from January 6th to 9th, 2026, in Las Vegas.
The first frame TV was released by Samsung in 2017. The company released its latest frame TVs this year, expanding to “standard” and “premium” segments.
The starting price of a Samsung frame TV is around $600.
