The company blamed the Wifi for its flawed presentation.
Meta has just held its annual event, Meta Connect 2025, during which the company presented its latest advancements in the smart glasses market.
During the event, the company’s CEO, Mark Zuckerberg, revealed three pairs of glasses: the second-generation Ray-Ban Meta glasses, the Oakley Vanguard glasses for sports, and the Meta Ray-Ban Display.
The main focus of the event was the release of Meta’s Ray-Ban Display, which also includes a neural link bracelet.
The glasses, priced at $800, have a screen on the right lens that shows users text messages, video calls, and directions, and allows them to access information from Meta’s AI.
One of the most distinctive features of the new glasses is a new neural wristband that allows users to control the system through hand gestures.
While these advancements in smart glasses should’ve been the highlight of the presentation, something else caught the attention of netizens.
“I've never seen a more disastrous presentation. Every demo failed,” wrote one Reddit user.
The event was based on several live demonstrations that were supposed to show how Meta’s upgraded and new hardware and artificial intelligence provide users with a smooth and fast user experience.
Meta AI’s key fail and comedy gold moment
The first bump on the road to showing how Meta’s AI is supposed to help in daily tasks was when it failed to give clear instructions for making a Korean-inspired steak sauce.
The presenter quickly blamed the issue on the WiFi and moved on with the presentation. However, this wasn’t the only hiccup the company experienced during the event.
“Mark genuinely looked PISSED after that last video call attempt with Boz. He normally keeps his composure, but he was clearly about to explode,” noted one user after Zuckerberg’s failed attempt to pick up a call from Meta’s CTO Andrew “Boz” Bosworth using Meta’s glasses.

“It's been so painful to watch. The concept of the glasses is something sci-fi has been promising for decades, so it'll be cool for those who want it,” shared one user, adding, ”but man, nothing about this presentation makes me think it's ready for the market. Back-to-back live demos failing on stage is rough.”
The discussion over Meta’s new products divided users, with some believing that the glasses aren’t worth the money, and others sharing their positive experiences when it comes to Meta’s glasses.
“They're actually very popular. I constantly run into random people out in the world that are using them,” shared one user.
It’s been reported that Meta has already sold over two million Ray-Ban Meta glasses since their first release in 2023.
The company’s latest addition to smart glasses, Meta’s Ray-Ban Display, will be available for purchase on September 30th, 2025. The gadget is available in black and sand.
