Nintendo’s $100 alarm clock release snoozed

Nintendo has announced that its all-singing-all-dancing alarm clock will be available exclusively to Nintendo Online members until March 2025.

Nintendo had intended to make its alarm clock widely available from mid-January 2025 but has now postponed until early March, as per Nintendo’s X post.

The Nintendo Sound Clock, fondly named ‘Alarmo,’ has motion sensors that allow users to snooze it with gestures alone, along with other features.

The device offers alarms from five popular games, including Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda, Splatoon 3, Pikmin 4, and Ring Fit Adventure.

Depending on which title you choose, there are seven different sound scenes, giving users 35 unique wake-up variations.

If you have a Nintendo account, you can download more alarm tones, including sounds from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

The video game maker advertises the gizmo claiming its motion sensors can detect when you move at night.

You can also check your sleep records, which give you information about how much time you spent in bed, how much you moved in your sleep, and how long it took you to get up.

For the time being, the Alarmo clock is available to Nintendo Switch Online members in the US and Canada.

After March, it will only be available in the My Nintendo Store in the UK and Ireland for Switch Online members.

Nintendo’s alarm clock will set you back around $99.99.

Ahead of the Nintendo Switch 2 release, the gaming giant has been releasing a few unexpected gadgets and apps.

Alongside Alarmo, the company has announced a new music app – Nintendo Music.

Nintendo Music can stream soundtracks from various Nintendo games, including Super Mario, Animal Crossing, and The Legend of Zelda.

As with any music app, Nintendo Music users can create playlists based on their listening habits.

Those playing a game and haven’t yet finished can hide some songs to avoid spoilers. There is also a feature that allows songs to be extended to 60 minutes.
