The Jetson Orin Nano Super Dev kit comes at a lower cost than its predecessors and is more capable.
Nvidia has announced a new compact generative AI computer, aimed at developers and others who want to get their hands on AI.
The developer kit consists of a Jetson Orin Nano 8GB system-on-module (SoM), similar to the Raspberry Pi Compute Module, and a reference carrier board.
SoM features a GPU with tensor cores and a 6-core Arm CPU. It can support up to four cameras and offers higher resolution and frame rates than previous versions.
According to the company, the Jetson Orin Nano Super Dev Kit delivers 67 TOPS (terra operations per second), a 70% improvement over the previous version.
Meanwhile, memory bandwidth has been increased by 50% to 102GB/s, and CPU frequency has been modestly bumped to 1.7 GHz from 1.5 GHz.
Nvidia says that the Jetson Orin Nano Super delivers gains for all popular generative AI models and transformer-based computer vision.
Those who already have the previous version, the Jetson Orin Nano, should also notice improvements in performance, as the company is issuing an update.
Nvidia sells Jetson Orin Nano Super for $249, while the previous version cost $499.
