Oura finally fixes "extremely needed update"

Oura ring users can finally track their activity in the middle of the night.

Previously, Oura smart ring owners noticed that the device has one major flaw, especially for those who are more active at night. It was reported that Oura ring wouldn’t track any activity from 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Users expressed their frustration by stating that those who work at night or consider themselves “night owls” can’t track metrics such as step count.

Users also noticed that Oura messes up with their sleep tracking if they don’t sleep during “traditional” hours.

The company has addressed the issue by stating that Oura is working on the update. However, it didn’t say when that will be.

It took them approximately a month to fix the problem, as one Reddit user shared the email received by the company. Its content states that the company issued an update that allows activity to be tracked “at all hours of the day and night (including 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.).

The email also stated that users can now “edit or add up to seven days’ worth of previous activities.”

A number of users are happy about the change, even though it isn’t something groundbreaking and should’ve worked from the start.

“It’s such a stupid yet extremely needed update, so yay,” wrote one user online.

“I’m a relatively new Oura user, but as a former Fitbit user, I can’t believe this would just not track at an arbitrarily decided window of every single day?!,” shared another Redditor.

“So to me it seems they fixed something that should never have been broken in the first place.”

Oura ring owners also revealed what changes they would like to see next, including “a night shift mode” and “a baby mode” for nursing moms.

Despite the flaw with the activity tracking timing, users were happy that the company listened to their feedback and made the changes.

“[...] we did it. Complaining really works,” joked one netizen.
