The company has revealed new ways to employ AI in our everyday lives through Samsung products.
Opening with the slogan "AI for All," Samsung shared what users can expect from the company in the future during the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025 in Las Vegas.
The company's Vice Chairman, CEO, and Head of Samsung's Device eXperience (DX) Division, Jong-Hee (JH) Han, introduced its plans for Home AI to provide users with personalized services across different devices.
More personalized home AI experiences
Having in mind how the "hyper-personalized smart home experience" has become, the company also emphasized the importance of security and privacy.
Samsung has announced that it's expanding its security capabilities with Samsung Knox Matrix. This security platform will protect home appliances, mobile devices, and TVs through its blockchain technology.
The company also announced that its One UI, which provides "an integrated software experience across all connected Samsung devices," will now include seven years' worth of software updates.
Samsung's SmartThings, the company's smart home platform, is also equipped with the latest AI features, such as SmartThings Ambient Sensing, that can read the user's environment and adapt the connected devices to work more seamlessly.
Bixby Voice, the AI voice assistant, has also been trained to recognize individual voices and reply in a way that's most suitable for each user.
With FlexConnect, Samsung's energy demand response program, users are invited to "decrease strain on local electricity grids," reducing electricity usage and lowering electricity bills.
Launch of Samsung AI PC's
Considering that AI takes on various aspects of our lives, often solving mundane problems, the company is launching its AI PCs, which should allow users to "focus on what matters most and explore new passions."
The company recently released its Galaxy Book5 Pro and Galaxy Book5 360 AI computers. Equipped with Intel Ultra Processors (Series 2), the new devices were created to boost creativity with fast browsing and seamless editing with features like AI Select and Samsung Studio.
Samsung wearables as health coaches
AI has also become an important part of Samsung wearables, providing insights into users' health and wellness.
The company is expanding Samsung Health's capabilities by integrating its insights to better accommodate users. For example, if it indicates that the user can't fall asleep or shows increased body temperature, the smart home can ensure that the user sleeps with closed blinds and lowered home temperature.
Samsung's partnerships with other companies
The company also announced that it's launching SmartThings Pro, which was created to offer business partners the same AI-powered digital solutions that SmartThings provides consumers.
Among the examples are Hyundai EVs. SmartThings Pro will help its owners locate a parked car or alert them when it's time to recharge their vehicle.
Samsung has also entered another industry by introducing SmartThings for ships. With Samsung's platform, captains and crews will be able to automate things like starting an engine and setting temperature and lights.
With Care Mode, users can see a complete view of a ship's power, AC systems, and smoke alarms and receive alerts in case of unusual activity.
