The AI-powered Galaxy S25, S25 Plus, and S25 Ultra will reportedly be announced on January 22nd, along with smart glasses and the updated Galaxy ring.
On Wednesday, Samsung will host its Unpacked event in San Jose, California, where the company will unveil several highly anticipated devices.
In recent weeks, numerous leaks have provided glimpses into what Samsung plans to showcase ahead of the launch.
While details about its upcoming smart glasses are somewhat scarce, most of the features and specs of the Galaxy S25 smartphone line seem to be well-detailed.
That said, we’ll need to wait for the event to confirm them, and Samsung may still have a surprise or two in store. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming Unpacked event.
How to watch the event?
The event, which will be held in San Jose, California, is scheduled for Wednesday, January 22nd, at 10 a.m. PST.
As usual, Samsung will live stream the event on its own website and official YouTube channel, and users can tune in to watch the announcements.
Galaxy S25 series design
These days, it is rare to see smartphone launches with significant design overhauls, and the Galaxy S25 series will likely be no different.
According to Android Headlines, which claims to have obtained renders of the new smartphones, Galaxy Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S25 Plus are expected to retain last year’s screen sizes, at 6.2 and 6.7 inches, respectively. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is rumored to come with a slightly larger 6.9-inch display, an increase of one inch over the standard model.
One minor tweak of the Galaxy S25 line will reportedly be thicker camera rings, while renders show the Ultra model having slightly rounder corners and thinner bezels.
Galaxy S25 features
The major news regarding the smartphone series will be new AI features enabled by the overclocked Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite 8 System on a chip (SoC). Some leaks claim that this year, Samsung will abandon the Galaxy S25 series version with its Exynos SoC and rely exclusively on Qualcomm for its flagship devices.
Marketing material obtained by a Brazilian news site reveals that the Galaxy S25 line will come with an AI feature called Now Breath. It will surface relevant information from apps in one place, such as weather, upcoming events, a day's summary, and more.
The images also reveal that the new smartphones will be able to summarize YouTube videos and have a new Shazam-like Music Search feature.

Previous rumors also suggest that the company might unveil an “AI Agent” that will give users personalized clothing suggestions and transport information.
All of Samsung's Galaxy AI features will first likely be available exclusively on the Samsung Galaxy S25 smartphone line and later will debut to other top-tier company’s smartphones.
Galaxy S25 series specs
The Galaxy S25 series' specs will reportedly remain similar to those of last year’s models. Another report from Android Headlines claims one major shift regarding cameras will be a new ultrawide camera sensor for the Ultra model, which is now set to feature 50MP instead of 12MP.
Overall, it is set to come with the same quad-camera, which consists of a 200MP main shooter, a 50MP ultrawide, a 50MP periscope, and a 10MP telephoto camera. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S25 and S25 Plus are set to come with a 50MP main shooter, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP telephoto camera.
The report claims that smartphones will feature the same-size batteries and fast charging options. The Galaxy S25, for example, is said to come with a 4000 mAh battery and 25W charging. If accurate, such a charging option would be slightly disappointing, as some Android competitors offer charging much faster.
RAM options of the devices are said to feature 12GB, though there might be 16GB for some of the premium versions.
Galaxy S25 series price
Several contradictory reports have been published about the prices of the Galaxy S25 series smartphones, with some suggesting that the company might hike prices for either all or only its top-tier models, at least in Europe.
However, a recent report suggests that the base option of the devices with 256GB will remain the same as last year. The version of the Galaxy S25 with 256GB of storage in Europe is expected to be retailed €969, Galaxy S25 Plus – €1159, and Galaxy S25 Ultra – €1459.
In the US, smartphones typically cost slightly less.
Smart glasses and XR headset
In December, Samsung unveiled its XR glasses dubbed Project Moohan. The company didn't reveal many details except that the device will run on Android XR, a new version of its Android operating system, and have hand-tracking and eye-tracking features.
On Wednesday, Samsung may tell more about the device, and possibly its release date.
However, the new smart glasses will likely be the more important announcement regarding wearable devices.
Based on some previous reports, the glasses are set to weigh around 50 grams, be powered by Qualcomm hardware, and run the Gemini Large language model.
The company is expected to announce the glasses in a video rather than show a live demo, but we will need to wait for the event to see.
The updated Galaxy Ring
Along with its foldable smartphone line last year, Samsung debuted its much-anticipated Galaxy Ring. A new version is on the way, and it is set to improve on its predecessor.
According to Digitimes, Samsung is expected to announce two more ring sizes. The ring will now reportedly also come in sizes 14 to 15, matching options offered by its competitor, Oura.
The wearable is also set to feature improved sensors for more accurate health measurements and better AI features. According to the report, the battery life of the ring is said to exceed 7 days.
