Samsung’s latest $1300 smartphone comes with what looks like dust collectors.
Samsung recently launched its Galaxy S25 smartphones during its annual Unpacked event.
Pre-orders for the new devices started on January 22nd, with shipping starting on February 7th.
While there are few reviews of the latest Samsung device yet, YouTuber Zack Nelson from JerryRigEverything made a video offering more insights into the new smartphone.
His Galaxy S25 Ultra durability test showed that the titanium-built device looks very much like the company’s previous smartphone, the S24 Ultra, with only slightly rounded corners.
What differs in the S25 Ultra, which the reviewer noted, is that its new camera lenses aren’t attached to the phone.
"They are slightly elevated, flexible, dust-collecting utopias,” said Nelson at the beginning of the video, proceeding to first go through other aspects of the device.
Another difference between the S24 Ultra and the S25 Ultra is its S Pen. The new smartphone comes with a “downgraded” pen that doesn’t include Bluetooth hardware. The S Pen can no longer do air gesturing, take photos, or change pictures on a PowerPoint presentation.
Next, the YouTuber checks the durability of the smartphone’s screen, which is equipped with Gorilla Glass Armor 2 protection. His test showed that it was sufficient to protect the phone from scratches.

Among several aspects tested during the video, one that didn’t sit well with the reviewer was the camera rings glued on top of the lenses. Nelson removed them with a knife, stating that they were “purely aesthetic rings around the glass.”
The problem with such additional details is that, with time, they will start to collect dust. And keeping it clean is nearly impossible in a place like that.
