You can now reserve Sony’s EV car for $200 – if you’re based in California.
During its presentation at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2025, the Japanese company introduced its latest accomplishments in gaming, filmmaking, and spatial content creation.
The company also surprised viewers by showcasing its latest product, an electric car called Afeela. The car is made by Sony Honda Mobility, a joint venture between the multimedia giant and the Japanese motor company.
Users can choose between Afeela 1 Origin, which costs $89,900, and Afeela Signature, priced at $102,900.
The Signature model is expected to be delivered mid-2026, and the Origin should appear in 2027.
Both cars receive a three-year subscription, which includes various in-car features, such as Level 2+ advanced driver-assistant systems, an AI-powered personal assistant, and a spatial sound system.
Residents of California can already reserve the car by paying a $200 reservation fee. The company has not announced when it will expand the reservation to other states.
Sony first hinted at its electric vehicle five years ago, during CES 2020, calling it Vision-S.
