Vivo doesn’t want you to choose between Apple and Android.
Vivo, the Chinese tech company, is preparing for the launch of its Vivo X Fold5 smartphone, which may take place this summer.
Before the release of Vivo’s latest smartphone, the company’s product manager, Han Boxiao, had already shared some details on the new device via Weibo, a Chinese social media platform.
One recent update about the smartphone is that the Vivo X Fold5 will be compatible with the Apple Watch. It will be the first Android phone that can connect to the Apple Watch, reports yeux1122's blog.
Once connected to the smartwatch, the phone will be able to show calls, messages, and synced health data via the vivo Health app.
Boxiao didn’t stop just there, by introducing two more features that make its smartphone also an “Apple companion.”
It was shared that users could use both X Fold5 and iPhone, as the two devices could be synchronized. For example, if you’re having a call on your iPhone, which is charging in the next room, you can pick up the same call via your Vivo smartphone.
“[...] The information flows seamlessly between the two mobile phones, just like using one,” wrote Boxiao on Weibo.
This “cross-system dual-machine interconnection” allows users to receive phone calls, messages, and other notifications without having to have multiple SIM cards.
This interconnection between the two systems doesn’t stop here, as Boxiao also revealed that the Vivo X Fold5 also “opened up iCloud cloud direct connection.” This allows Vivo users with iCloud access to their photos and files through the X Fold5 smartphone.
Regarding the smartphone’s specifications, Vivo’s product manager has already published an image of its internal display.

It was also revealed that the phone has LTPO 8T panels, which would provide users with better visuals.
Both displays also support up to 4,500 nits of brightness, “high-frequency PWM dimming and TÜV Rheinland global eye protection 3.0 certification, bright and more eye-friendly,” wrote Boxiao.
