Rumor has it that Fitbit is tracking its last days.
Fitbit, the fitness-tracking device company that was acquired by Google in 2019, has been under scrutiny after alleged rumors of its products getting discontinued.
In the past, the company has undergone some changes, with its name slightly changed and its website shut down following users' disappointed reactions to the Fitbit app.
Google recently released the latest line of Pixel devices, including Pixel 9 smartphones and Pixel Watch 3.
The company’s latest smartwatch boasts a better battery life and AI-powered features. However, some of the watch’s features are similar to Fitbit’s, one of which is the Daily Readiness Score, first noted by TechRadar.
With this in mind, rumors started to spread that Google may be preparing to eliminate Fitbit from the market.
Nevertheless, Google’s spokesperson shut down the speculations. Addressing TechRadar's claims, they stated that they’re “committed to Fitbit” and confirmed that Fitbit will not be discontinued.
The spokesperson also reminded that Fitbit recently launched its latest smartwatch for kids, Fitbit Ace, and assured users that new devices will be released in the future.
