Is it legal to buy PokeCoins with a VPN
It’s legal to buy PokeCoins with a VPN. However, it goes against the game's Terms of Service. More precisely, the ToS states that you are not allowed to use third-party software in an unauthorized manner or to spoof your actual location.
However, with the help of a reliable VPN, you can change your location and keep both the IP and the VPN usage hidden. To do this, your VPN needs robust security features, like a kill switch that will cut the connection if the VPN fails and obfuscated servers that will mask the VPN usage.
Other ways to get Pokemon GO coins
The easiest method of getting Pokemon GO coins is to buy them directly from the store. However, there is one additional way to snag them.
If your team takes over a gym, each Pokemon will generate one coin every 10 minutes. Therefore, 50 coins will be generated from each Pokemon in 8h and 20 min. After that, the coins generating will stop as that’s the cap. Overall, it seems you can put up to 6 Pokemon in the gym at the same time.
Final thoughts
Pokemon GO coins enhance your gaming experience, but they can be a bit expensive. However, the price varies from country to country. The best part is that you can use a VPN and choose the location with the cheapest PokeCoins.
Our recommendation for this is NordVPN. Thanks to the 6900+ servers in 111 countries, you can connect to any country, such as India, Indonesia, and Vietnam, with cheaper PokeCoins. On top of that, VPNs come with robust online security and privacy to make your virtual activities safe.

Comments
I have read through all the comments, attempted to which NordVPN protocol, different IP, incognito mode and deleted the browser history but nothing seems to help. Everytime I log in to my pogo account on the store it switches me back to my expensive currency.
Can you try again and give us a detailed guide on how you get this to work? It seems like this work around was fixed.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
It seems that the Pokémon GO store aligns the currency with the country where the account was created. While it may be possible to change it once or twice, it eventually reverts to the currency of the account's original country. The best option for changing currency is to change your country in the Google Play or App Store, but this can only be done once per year and may require additional steps (e.g., for Apple ID you have to spend your store credit and cancel your subscriptions before changing country). Unfortunately, Niantic has not provided an option to change the currency or country directly within the game. Hope this helps!
Does this confirmed to be working from PC as you mentioned? I remember it didn't work because as Pogo said, the moment we log in into pokemon web online store, it detects our home country.
1) Delete the web browser's cookies and cache or try a different browser
2) Try switching to different VPN server
3) Try using a dedicated IP. It is a unique IP address dedicated only to you, so there are smaller chances for it to be blacklisted by various websites. You can get one from NordVPN
4) With Surfshark VPN, you can additionally spoof your geolocation with the GPS override feature on your mobile device
Hope this works for You!
