TikToker shot dead on live-stream

23-year-old beauty influencer Valeria Marquez was shot and killed while live-streaming on TikTok.

A Mexican beauty influencer was live-streaming in her studio in Guadalajara city when a man supposedly entered her salon.

Marquez was sitting at a table holding a stuffed animal toy while on the popular social media platform TikTok, according to videos uploaded to X.

The man then attacked Marquez with the weapon and “apparently fired a gun at her,” according to the Jalisco state prosecutor's office.

Once the attack ended, an involved party picked up Marquez’s phone and ended the live-stream, which caught the incident on camera.

Police then arrived at the scene and confirmed that Marquez was deceased, the state prosecutor said.

The video, which has been reposted to social media accounts like X, is extremely graphic and shows Marquez sitting at a table holding a pink stuffed pig.

Users on social media under the hashtag #ValeriaMarquez were skeptical about the attack.

However, the video shows that she was shot in the abdomen, in the head, and clearly shows her bleeding.

Many users on X came out to express their condolences in Spanish. One user said “vuela alto vale,” which roughly translates to “fly high.”

Internet sleuths are trying to figure out who orchestrated the fatal attack on Marquez. One user calls to attention the woman who ended the live video following the murder.

Cybernews translated the post, which said that the woman “made sure Valeria Marquez stayed at the store until the supposed delivery man arrived.”

The post continues by saying that the person in question “made sure to close the live so there was no evidence of the murder.”

While this is not entirely true, as the event was caught on camera, the user believes that the woman who stopped the live video was an accomplice.

Other users say that the “friend” seen at the end of the live video “had deadly issues” with the victim.

However, this is all speculative, and police haven’t released information on the suspect, the BBC reports.
