The White House has released a video resembling the cult animation show Rick and Morty, with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance as main characters.
The parody sees the show's iconic title sequence redone, including an over-the-top escape sequence, as they flee the White House in a UFO, as it comes under attack from a red-eyed dragon.
To add to the drama, the clip also features border czar Tom Homan arresting an “illegal alien” immigrant depicted as a struggling extraterrestrial.
Also in the vid is the Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, animated as a robot losing its face to reveal mechanical parts.
On top of all this, President Trump released a flurry of AI-generated posts on his Truth Social channel, featuring lots of embellished photo content, including Trump as a doctor, claiming that he wanted to put the spine back in Republicans.
It maintains a sustained push towards modern meme promotions from the White House, which in March released a sequence of gamified videos endorsing military action for the war in Iran.

Strong reaction
As one might expect, there was a strong social media reaction to the Rick and Morty parody, with X user @OneNationUnderGod championing, “Yes, get all the ALIENS out of our country now!!” adding that “we have a man with balls in the [White House].“
Former Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene, however, pointed out “people can’t afford gas, groceries, rent, and healthcare and this is the weird embarrassing crap the official White House account is putting out.

Others followed suit, lamenting the fact that the White House has social media platforms (in this case TikTok), especially when the debts are so high.
Why the timing matters
The video coincides with Adult Swim cartoon release, President Curtis, in which an impressionable black president embarks on oddball adventures, but based here on Earth.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, show creator Dan Harmon spoke of one of The Curtis’ main characteristics as “a naïveté that you could overlap with Trump."
Harmon ultimately said the fictional president became a blend of multiple commanders-in-chief rather than a direct parody of any one leader.
He described Curtis as "our fantasy president, warts and all," combining traits from several administrations.
Although the White House has not linked its video to Harmon's interview, the close timing fueled speculation that the animation was a deliberate cultural response.
