Mysterious, car-sized drones have been spotted soaring over Morris County, New Jersey, sparking fear and curiosity. As the FBI investigates, residents are left asking: who's behind this high-flying enigma and what do they want?
Multiple residents in Morris County, New Jersey, have spotted a car-sized flying drone not far from Donald Trump’s golf course.
The FBI is currently investigating reports of these low-flying “car-sized” objects. One resident, Julie Shavalier, claims that she’s “completely unnerved” by the experience, in a report that feels eerily like something you’d see in The X Files.
Journalists, however, are already speculating about the actual size of the drones, whether they’d be big enough to fit on a desk or indeed a garage.
The main questions from residents appear to be: What are they? Where are they from? Who is doing this and why? Are they a threat? What’s going on and why are the FBI getting involved?

There are a couple of military sites known in the area, but nothing has been confirmed there yet.
The trouble in tracking these flying objects is the rapid rate at which such technology advances. Factor in also that many drones fly anonymously and if it’s a swarm drone, it may succeed in evading detection, especially if it's being piloted from a decentralized location.
So, as local residents speculate into a frenzy, the wider question remains – why are these flying over US territory, and do they pose any threat?
One wonders whether these flying objects could be a part of something more malicious, i.e. spying, hacking or mapping sensitive information.
While not seeming significant at first, their concern is that they’ve appeared so close to the American election.
It brings to mind the Colorado drone sightings of 2020 when mass hysteria engulfed the midwest and locals resorted to taking up arms over the incident.
And further, as we recently covered, the ex-Pentagon UFO program chief Luis Elizondo is absolutely convinced that aliens are coming to visit us. That often seems to be the take of local residents, coupled with coverage on channels like NBC News.
But looking beyond Mulder and Scully, we just wonder if it’s simply drone testing, broader commercial use from someone like Amazon or Google, military or government surveillance, political or terrorist disruption, or some grand hoax.
These things don’t always come with a transparent truth.
