How to watch Dexter: Resurrection from abroad with a VPN
If you have an active Paramount+ subscription in your home country but are traveling, a VPN can connect you to a server in that country before you sign in. That may help you access your usual catalog, although streaming platforms can detect VPN traffic and availability is not guaranteed. For more options, see our guide to the best VPNs for streaming.
- Choose a VPN. NordVPN is our top recommendation for streaming because it has thousands of servers across 225+ locations, plus NordLynx and SmartPlay features designed to support secure, smooth connections. Its Smart DNS feature can also be useful on compatible streaming devices that do not support VPN apps.
- Install the NordVPN app. Download the app on the device you plan to use, such as a laptop, phone, tablet, Fire TV device, or compatible smart TV.
- Connect to your home country. Select a server in the country where you have an eligible Paramount+ subscription. For example, a US subscriber traveling abroad should connect to a US server before opening Paramount+.
- Open Paramount+ and sign in. Go to Paramount+ in a web browser or open its supported app. Sign in with your existing account, then search for Dexter: Resurrection.
- Start streaming and troubleshoot if needed. If the episode does not load, try another server in the same country, clear browser cookies or app cache, or use a browser instead of an app. App-store availability may differ from web access in other regions.
Best VPNs to watch Dexter: Resurrection
These VPNs are suitable for viewers accessing an eligible home Paramount+ subscription while traveling. A VPN cannot provide a Paramount+ Premium subscription or guarantee access because platform restrictions can change.
- NordVPN – best overall for streaming. NordVPN has thousands of servers across 225 locations and includes NordLynx, SmartPlay, and Smart DNS for compatible streaming setups. Cybernews recorded 84% average speed retention in its streaming testing, making it a strong choice for watching weekly episodes in HD while traveling. See the full NordVPN review for more details.
- Surfshark – best for households with many devices. Surfshark has 4,500+ servers in 100 countries and allows unlimited simultaneous connections, which can suit a household that watches across several devices. Its WireGuard protocol supports fast VPN connections, but note that Surfshark discontinued its Smart DNS feature in February 2026. Read the full Surfshark review.
- Proton VPN – best for privacy-focused viewers. Proton VPN offers servers in 149 countries, paid-plan streaming features, and support for up to 10 devices at once. It also has a free plan, but its paid service is the appropriate option for viewers who need broader location selection and streaming support. Read the full Proton VPN review.
Can you watch Dexter: Resurrection for free?
There is no confirmed permanent free streaming option for Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 in the US. Paramount+ says Season 2 is exclusive to Paramount+ Premium, so a paid subscription is required after any applicable trial period.
Paramount+ currently advertises seven-day trials for eligible new subscribers in the UK and Australia, but availability and terms vary by market. Because Season 2 is released weekly, a trial may not cover the whole season.
A VPN does not make Paramount+ Premium content free. It can only help travelers access a service subscription they already hold, subject to the platform’s terms and applicable laws.
How to watch Dexter: Resurrection on different devices
A web browser is usually the simplest option when you are traveling because it avoids app-store availability issues. The Paramount+ app and VPN app may work on many devices, but their availability can vary by country and operating system.
| Device | Paramount+ | NordVPN setup | Best approach |
| Desktop or laptop browser | Web | Native app | Connect to the VPN, then sign in through the Paramount+ website. |
| Mobile browser | Web | Native app | Use Safari or Chrome if the local app store does not show Paramount+. |
| iPhone and iPad | App or web, depending on local store | Native app | Use the app where available, or stream through Safari. |
| Android phones and tablets | App or web, depending on local store | Native app | Use the app where available, or stream through Chrome. |
| Android TV and Google TV | App availability varies by region | Native app on supported devices | Use a VPN app and the local Paramount+ app where both are supported. |
| Amazon Fire TV | App availability varies by region | Native app on supported devices | Install the VPN app, then use Paramount+ if available in the device’s account region. |
| Apple TV | App availability varies by region | Native app on supported devices | Use a native VPN app or NordVPN Smart DNS where appropriate. |
| Samsung and LG smart TVs | App availability varies by region | Smart DNS or router | Use Smart DNS, a router-level VPN, or cast from a VPN-connected phone or computer. |
| Roku, PlayStation, and Xbox | App availability varies by region | Router or Smart DNS | Use a router-level VPN, Smart DNS where supported, or casting. |
On iPhone and Apple TV, a VPN changes your IP address but does not change the country attached to your Apple account. If a local app store does not offer Paramount+, use the browser where possible rather than assuming a VPN will unlock the app listing. For mobile-specific recommendations, see our guides to the best VPNs for iPhone and best VPNs for Android.
Smart TVs, Roku, and game consoles often lack native VPN apps. In those cases, a router-level VPN, Smart DNS, or casting from a VPN-connected device may be the most practical setup.
