Zerocam, the camera app that allows users to take pictures without additional photo processing, is now available on Android devices.
The app's creators say it's "the first anti-AI camera app" that shoots in RAW and removes artificial effects.
The application first became available for iPhone users. Zerocam's interface only includes a viewfinder and a camera button.
The app that comes with no settings is now available on Google Play Store and Apple Store.
Users can download Zerocam for free, but then they're limited to using it for only five photos per day. To have unlimited access, users must sign up for a paid subscription of $0.99 per month or $10.99 for a year.
The app is compatible with Android 14 or later and iOS 17.0 or later.
iPhone users have already had the chance to use the app, and it has received quite positive reviews. Many like the idea behind it.
However, not all users expressed their satisfaction. Some were quick to point out that the app, which basically doesn't include any features, shouldn't cost anything.
"Unprocessed camera app – yay. Poncy only takes 5 pictures a day app – nay. £9.99 a year subscription or £0.99 a month subscription for unlimited photos – ‘deleting this thing and never looking back,’” said one Redditor.
"Bold of them to charge without a single basic feature other than capturing the image," agreed another one.
The app is supposed to shoot in RAW, but one user noticed that that's not the case: "To save you all the time of downloading it: [...] It doesn't shoot in raw." The user also pinpointed things like lower picture quality and lack of functionality.
