As Spotify puts it, its latest TuneMyMusic integration should make it “incredibly simple” for users to move their playlists from other streaming platforms to the Spotify library.
Ahead of Spotify’s annual Wrapped release, the company is introducing a set of updates designed to make all playlists “feel and sound fresh.”
The mobile app now integrates TuneMyMusic – a third‑party web service that allows listeners to transfer their playlists from other streaming platforms.
TuneMyMusic is already being used by Spotify’s competitors, such as Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, Tidal, and Deezer. Among them, Spotify continues to hold the largest share in the global music streaming industry, at 31.5%.
“No lost favorites, just an easy, built-in way to bring your music home,” Spotify claims.
Once a new playlist is imported, it is eligible for other Spotify playlist features, which the company has introduced throughout this year.
For instance, Smart Filters is a feature that allows users to group playlists based on the mood they set or the music genre they play. It also allows them to add friends who can change the tracklist to their liking. This feature also includes an option to add custom transitions between tracks is designed to improve personalized recommendations, so that imported playlists “start feeling familiar from the start.”
Although Spotify is a leader in the music streaming industry, the company’s competitors are hot on its heels with innovative features.
For example, as Apple introduced iOS 26, it also introduced an AI-based AutoMix feature, which allowed for a smoother transition from one song to the next, “just like a DJ.”
Amazon’s Alexa Plus is able to find songs a user has forgotten the name of but still recalls some of the lyrics or other information, such as TV shows they were played on, or even festival lineups. It can also share the meaning behind song lyrics.
And YouTube Music launched “Taste Match,” a feature that allows users to “connect over shared music tastes and discover new songs. Playlists are automatically updated daily based on the music taste of everyone who has joined them,” which is a similar feature to Spotify’s Blend.
