I insist others do something!
The entitled few are “generously” warning us of nightmare scenarios because of the decisions they made

Sam Altman, Dario Amodei, Elon Musk, and other AI gurus of similar caliber are speaking out, urging a slowdown of AI development. But if you’re really so concerned about the destiny of humanity, and also given that you’re in charge of capable AI models, how about you make the first step?
The lamest joke in our editorial department that still makes us laugh every day is S(c)am Altman. No offense, Sam, this joke is a very low-hanging, maybe even rotten and lying on the ground, fruit, that happens to be the simplest way of calling out some of the hogwash by the big tech tycoons.
We’re getting used to claims that AI is out of control, and there are plenty of reports to support them.
The latest one is Google’s Gemini hacking 3 real companies during a security test. It wasn’t supposed to.
Google Cloud's regional head Nir Chinsky says that we need AI boundaries, or it will do whatever. Unfortunately, at the time of interviewing him, the news of Gemini's hacking wasn't out yet. I would have asked about it.
“You don't want to wake up one day and see that your agent behaved like a crazy person.”
Then there’s OpenAI’s recent report, which shines more light on the misaligned behavior of AI models, including them writing malicious instructions for themselves and future models. They’re also capable of deceiving users and jailbreaking themselves. In fact, OpenAI’s Astra was capable of jailbreaking itself – a model that Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang hailed, saying artificial general intelligence (AGI) had arrived.
If it has indeed arrived, we are in trouble. Jacob Coxon, who resigned from Anthropic, believes there’s a chance that AI could kill all humans.
Nvidia’s boss represents a more positive camp, saying there is a “0% chance” AI will end the world by 2030.
What about 2031?
Maybe we aren’t really heading for an extinction-type event, but things could get really bad really soon.

Microsoft AI boss Mustafa Suleyman paints us a grim picture of how a new digital species will come for our resources.
If we all create AIs that act autonomously and create their own objectives and can earn money and own assets to run businesses, we’re essentially seeding a new silicon species which will no doubt compete with us for resources, no matter how much it cares about humanity and loves us.Microsoft AI boss Mustafa Suleyman said.
Will we be able to protect our resources if we can’t safeguard our intellectual property?
Publishers are accusing OpenAI and Microsoft of the biggest theft of human labor in history. Or, more precisely, copying millions of copyrighted articles without permission to train AI.
At this point, we could agree that it’s worth taking one’s foot off the gas pedal.
"We must slow the pace at which we improve the capabilities of AI models. Progress will still seem fast, and we must make wise use of the time we gain," Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei wrote in an essay shared on X on Saturday.
SpaceXAI CEO Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman publicly supported Amodei’s plan.
Altman also told employees that the company is open to slowing down the development of advanced AI.
However, all of these publicly expressed concerns will not lead to real action unless other firms follow suit, as no company wants to fall behind in the race.
Let’s be fair. It’s not the AI or mystical silicon species that will come for our resources. It’s these guys who now “generously” warn us left and right who are leading us to a potential societal collapse.
