With Labubus on designer bags and children chucking up “6-7” hand gestures, there have been a lot of trends to come out of 2025.
Google Trends has compiled a “Year in Search” report, presenting data on the most frequently searched trends of 2025.
There were firsts, there were number one trending terms of the year, alongside internet culture and entertainment trends.
First terms to be searched in 2025
Terms that were searched for the first time in 2025 included the Gen Z stare, the phrase “what the helly,” Chicken Jockey, and Labubu rave, along with other terms.

The Chicken Jockey became a viral moment after adults and young children alike set off fireworks and threw popcorn when the Chicken Jockey appeared on screen during the Minecraft movie.
