A new video featuring the viral “robot women” shows how they prepared for the World Robot Conference 2024 in Beijing.
The video, reposted by X user ‘Game of X,’ who has almost 25,000 followers, including Elon Musk, shows how the Ex-Robot models got ready before appearing at the World Robot Conference 2024.
The models are shown being worked on by makeup artists, who carefully turn them into humanoid robots. The women wear wigs and contact lenses to make their appearance look doll-like.
They’re dressed in form-fitting futuristic suits with plastic shoulder pads and neckpieces.
The video shows the women walking into the event, pretending to be robots, as automaton enthusiasts take photos of them leaving what looks like a hotel lobby.
The makeup artist sits between the two models as a driverless car takes them to the World Robot Conference. Both are eerily still, reminiscent of robots that have powered down.
Both women are wheeled into the conference as people surround them. There are also real humanoid robots on the Ex-Robot pop-up stage, and the models attempt to mimic their movements.

Arguments emerged online after a video of the robot women went viral on X. The initial video was posted by the same user, ‘Game of X’ or ‘froggyups,’ and many commenters questioned the video's credibility.
One user asked whether the women in the foreground were real or fake, and ‘froggyups’ responded, claiming that the “robots” were human actors.
The behind-the-scenes footage confirms that the women were indeed convincing actors. However, the “women” among the models were realistic human robots created by the Chinese company Ex-Robot.
Ex-Robot specializes in creating realistic humanoid robots that will one day serve the general public as well as private and public institutions.
The company was founded under the name Dalian TIS Technology development companyin 2013 in Dalian, a city in China with a population of six million.
Ex-Robots was part of the yearly World Robot Conference held in Beijing, organized by government bodies and the Chinese Association for Science and Technology. The conference aims to showcase the latest scientific and technological advancements.
